FIRST PART: CURRENT SITUATION

Euthanasia or Assisted suicide is illegal in

Australia

The Northern Territory attempted in the 1990’s

to legislate it however, the Federal Government

had constitutional powers to repeal the law.

Internationally, some countries practice

euthanasia.

Australia has an aging population.

Costs of supporting these future retirees will

put a huge burden of young generations who

are paying tax

the responsibility of this Parliament

Social benefits of allow a person to die with

their diginity

The economic benefits of reduced spending on

health services and welfare payments.
