Made from the finest of materials,
maia’s high technology surface
consists of acrylic resin, two thirds
aluminium hydroxide and colour
pigments. The properties of these
components combine to form a versatile
practical material, with the appearance
of real stone but without the associated
cost or inherent drawbacks. In fact,
maia’s surface presents many
benefits over stone such as its greater
heat resistance, virtually inconspicuous
joints, aesthetically appealing and soft to
the touch.
maia offers you a luxurious
worksurface that adds the finishing
touch to your kitchen cabinets.
Extremely hygienic due to its smooth
non porous surface
Impenetrable to dirt, dust and bacteria
Easy to clean and maintain with normal
household cleaners
Inconspicuous joints can be achieved
UV resistant – will not fade or discolour
Scratches can be simply polished away
Can be machined like wood

with the selected décor for the fully co-
ordinated effect. If required, the
900mm depth can easily be cut down
for use on 600mm or 650mm
applications.

CristalloWith its crisp solid white background and contrasting grey granulesand white finish the Cristallo oozes style and elegance that complements the darker range of colours. For a more traditional look, team it with either walnut or dark oak doors. To produce a modernstylish industrial feel use silver or metal effect doors.
ArdesiaThe warmth of the solid grey is contrasted beautifully with overtones ofblack giving a granite type effect. Versatility is a key with the Ardesia, use subtle blue door shades for a stylish finish. For those stunningtimeless looks just add pure white doors and brushed metal handles,to add Mediterranean feel use lighter wood shades teamed with rustic accessories.
CappuccinoCappuccino works with woods and plain coloured doors, helping create two different styles of kitchen. Add dark oakdoors and cream and brown for a more modern relaxed feel, even plaincoffee/latte or white. For more impact use vibrant doors of ‘zebrano’.For strength use Mexican red (Dusk red) which adds qualityand maturity.
CreamCream is a gentle, calming colour, ideal for loft style kitchens. A warmmodern kitchen can be created with simple rustic doors of eitherdark oak or walnut. Coffee, cream or brown can add warmth anddepth to a room, whilst richer blocks of colour help create a dramaticeffect.
VulcanoThis is a sophisticated colour. Its solid black background isinterspersed with hints of yellow and red. It works with the richfull grain of woods, such as walnut, whilst cream and white accentcolours give a warm vibrant feel. Vulcano can be teamed with plainglossy red doors for impact and strength, and coffee or cream doorsfor a more relaxed mood.
LavaGrey in appearance, Lava’s small speckles of brown and black evokethe attributes of natural stone. When used in a blue kitchen with glass, wood and white accessories the effect can be stunning, whilst glossyblack or metal effect doors can give a stylish industrial effect.
VanillaAn elegant colour that works with many kitchen designs and a varietyof woods, such as light ash and oak. Due to its coloured flecks, Vanillacan easily combine with a range of door colours, with black giving astylish, contrasting effect. Glossy coffee/ brown doors also work well,as do a variety of materials such as natural wood and metals.

Maia installtionComplicated and time consuming surface installation is a thing of the pastwith maia’s easy fit system. The product can be readily installed usingstandard wood working equipment andtemplating is not required. maia worksurfaces are supplied pre edged to makeyour surface installation even easier.
(600mm and 650mm worktops are pre edged ontwo short edges and one long edge. 900mm worktops are pre edged on two long edges and oneshort edge).
Jointingmaia is jointed using our colourmatched adhesive in such a way that theactual joint becomes virtually inconspicuous, leaving you with asmooth worksurface. A seamless finishensures an aesthetically pleasing, hygienic and functional worksurface solution. To make life even easier wehave created a maia jointing kit whichhas everything you need to completeone joint. The kit also contains the maia‘Installation, Care and Maintenance Manual’ which has full step by step instructions.
Edging as easy as 1-2-3The unique properties which allow maiato appear seamless even around its jointlines also allow an excellent edge finish. Amaia edging strip is applied to an exposed edge using colour matched adhesive, leaving a slight overhang whichis then sanded back to leave a smooth andsolid looking edge. Again, clear and easyinstructions are included in the maia‘Installation, Care and Maintenance Manual’ which is provided with each worksurface.
Tailor made finishThis system of neat and simple jointing andre-edging opens up numerous kitchen options and allows you to create work surfaces to fit your own design requirements. maia is quite simply, ‘designed for living.’

care and maintenancemaia

maia has been developed to be
used in the kitchen environment, and
although no ‘special’ maintenance is
needed we recommend the following
is adhered to, as prevention is always
better than cure.
Routine cleaningClean in much the same way as
you would maintain any other working
surface. Most dirt and light residue will
easily wipe away with a damp cloth and
soapy water. The worksurface should
then be rinsed with clean water and
wiped dry. Persistent marks can be
removed by using a non-abrasive
cleaner, but harsh scouring powders
should be avoided.
LimescaleTo remove limescale apply vinegar
or citric acid to the surface. Rinse
afterwards with clean water and wipe dry.
Water marksHard water will leave visible marks on
the surface but will not harm it, much
the same as with glass. Marks tend to
be more prominent with the darker
maia colours. To prevent this, simply
wipe with a damp cloth and towel dry.
Heatmaia’s surface will withstand heat
better than many alternative surface
materials. However, all hot pots, pans
and other heat generating devices
should always be placed upon maia’sstainless steel finish worktop protector
rods, to prevent extreme heat having
prolonged and direct contact with the
surface. Boiling water and cooking
splashes do not harm the surface.
Stainingmaia , unlike marble and granite will
resist most household chemicals
including alcohol and cosmetics.
However some chemicals and strong
dyes can cause damage and
discolouration. If spillage occurs wipe
off immediately and rinse area
thoroughly.
Minor scratchingKitchen utensils and crockery
(particularly the unglazed bases) can
sometimes cause scratches that will be
particularly evident on darker colours.
The surface can be damaged by
scratching or cutting with knives, so the
use of a cutting board is essential.
Minor scratches can be removed using
a Scotch-Brite™ pad, please refer to the
care and maintenance manual.
