Selection process forMAHINDRA SATYAM held in BVRIT on 18th december, 2010..

There were three rounds:

a.) Written testb.) Technical roundc.) HR

Written test

this consists of two parts:

English- it has 8 sub sections. Total of 100 questions are to be answered in 40 minutes. There is no need

to be tensed since there would be ample time and you will be able to complete it before time.

These sub sections consists of topics like:

y Common confusing words (usage of compliment/compement)y Prepositionsy Subject verb agreementy Synonymnsy Antonymnsy analogies

Maths - this has 3 sub sections with a total of 70 questions. (35, 20, 15)

This section covers areas like:

y Logical reasoningy Some images will be given and the next image is to be guessedy Problems on ages, time speed, time work, clocks, calanders, etc..

Only basic math will be tested since 70 questions are to be answered in 40 minutes.

R.S.Agarwal verbal and non-verbal reasoning is the best book to refer.

It is better to answer all the questions since there is no negative marking. If you clear the written test,

there is a maximum probability that you will be absorbed into the organization.

Technical round:

Confidence is the mantra of technical round. Be clear and confident about whatever you speak. Whwn

the interviewer asks you what subject you are interested in, tell the subject which you are confident about.

It is preferable to talk about C and DBMS.

In DBMS, he will ask very basic questions like queries, normal forms, acid properties etc..

In C prepare some programs like fibonacci series, swapping, armstrong number, etc.. only simple

questions will be asked.

Prepare well about your mini project. He might ask you to explain about it. (What is your role in the

project?) People asses your confidence levels even through the handshake. So be very confident.. dont

get tensed. Keep smiling.

There were 3 panels in our college for TR.

When I entered into the room, the interviewer looked very friendly and half of my tension was gone.

Questions poset to me:

y Tell me about yourself.y Why mahindra satyam?y What do you do in your free time? (I said reading fiction novels was my passion)y Why do you prefer fiction to others?

He asked some other similar questions like this. then he suggested me some other books to read. He

checked all the memos, resume and the certificates while talking to me.

HR:

Keep smiling always and be confident. Portray yourself in such a way that you can handle almost any

situation.

He asked me questions like:

y Tell me about your family background.y Tell me about your siblings.y Why should I offer you this job? ( I told my positive points like I dont crack under pressure,

self motivation, responsible,)

y What do you do when you are angry?y How do you motivate yourself?y Will you sign a bond for 2 years?y Can you relocate?y Where do you see yourself after 5 years?y As a team leader how would you deal with your fellow mate who is not co-operating with you?

As I was the last person attending the HR session, I didnt have to wait long for the names of short-listed

candidates. After 30 minutes, the results were announced. I was very happy happy when my name was

announced. That was a memorable moment.

48 students were selected from our college. Smiling face, patience, politeness, confidence are the key

factors. These are the only essential criteria they are looking for. So prepare well and do your best.
