He was a lawyer, thinker and Indian Hindu political.

He received from “Rabindranath Tagore” the name “MAHATMA”.

He inspired us because, his goal was to

help poor people to protest oppressive taxation and discrimination.

Why do he inspired us?

He struggled to alleviate poverty, liberate woman and put end to caste discrimination, with the ultimate objective being self-rule for India.

He inspired society because he led India´s

independence movement in the 1930s and 40s by speaking softly without carrying much of a big stick, facing down the British colonialist.

Historians say, Gandhi proved that one man has the power to take on an empire, using both ethnics and intelligence.

Gandhi was imprisoned in 1992, 1930, 1933 and in 1942. While in prison, he went on hunger strike.

His fame was such that his dead on prison would make international headlines and greatly embarrass the British.

There had been one assesinationattempt on Gandhi on january, it had failed.

Just ten days later, he was assesinatedby a Hindu fanatic who could not forgive Gandhi for his belief that muslims had equal value to hindus and no-one was better than anybody else.

We think Gandhi was a very admirable,

intelligent and important man, because he made a lot of things to help people and to help India against British control.

We would always remember him for all his sacrifices.
