• That was just my introduction, now for the long boring part of my presentation.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of

real media products?my magazine uses many of the codes and conventions of a normal magazine to help identify it as one that can be found on a shelf. It has:

• A Masthead• Main Image Of The Interviewed

Band• Pull Quotes• Freebies• Competitions• Barcodes• An Interesting Fact

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

• The target social group for my magazine was indie/rock fans in the age range of 16-20

• Indie/rock is a genre that is hard to simplify into one aspect, sometimes indie/rock can be: fun, serious, happy, joyful, depressive and even boring.

• In my magazine I tried to use serious photos, but made the interviews fun and exciting, whilst also keeping it appealing to the younger audience whose minds tend to run free when reading.

• I kept their interest by including into my interview a talk about games and even sports, which many teenagers enjoy in their spare time.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

• For this I had to ask some people of the target age and audience where they would expect to see my magazine. The least likely place I would like to see it singly would be WHSmith, because they tend to distribute any magazine be it good or bad. Tesco or somewhere similar would be a bit of a compliment as they narrow down what they have on the shelf. The best place I would like to see it would be in a local newsagents as they tend to pick out the best sellers to guarantee them selves a sale as they cannot afford to lose out on magazine sales.

• Here is the feedback:supermarket (e.g. Tesco) 15.4%small village store 0.0%book/magazine shop (e.g. WH smith) 38.5%Newsagents 46.2%

It would be distributed by Bowa or IPC.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

• Simple, indie/rock fans. I got the information to distribute to them from a survey, and for a country rock fan to buy it would be odd, as it is not targeted at them sort of people :P
