Introduction MagnX is a range of fully customisable magnetic receptive glass whiteboards.

Manufactured to order in Kent, MagnX can be used as a dry wipe and magnetic ‘pin’ board; the non-porous surface is easy to maintain, hygienic and the surface will not degrade or discolour like traditional whiteboards. The versatile MagnX range is offered with a variety of finishes to suit every budget: basic white, backpainted or backpainted and printed to your unique specification. The Gx MagnX range provides the perfect solution to every requirement, from simple white fixed sized boards to fully branded work walls, we can help you customise the shape, colour, size and graphics you need to provide a truly individual writing surface. Because we are first and foremost a glass company it means we can produce not only your magnetic glass, but we can also supply all your other glass requirements to match – from cladding to credenza tops, tea points to balustrades we are a single point of contact for your glass needs.

We don’t use a re-seller for our products, so you are dealing direct with our team of experts to enable you to get the right product and the right answers.

Specifying

Installation

In specifying MagnX glass boards you get a product that is not only durable and long lasting, but also backed by a two year warranty against discoloration or delamination, and the surface has a lifetime guarantee. The product will also work with the lifecycle of interior projects as it will never need to be replaced.

Gx Glass offer a survey and installation process for all of our boards, from fully clad work walls to installation of the concealed fixing boards, we can work with you on your call off or fit out schedule to ensure your project is completed on time and on budget.

ManufactureThe boards are manufactured to order, and dependent on the volumes of boards required, specialist water based glass paints are applied to 4 mm low iron toughened safety glass using either a spray or roller coating method, as well as application of the magnetically receptive backing.MagnX can be drilled for fittings or fixing during manufacture, and it can also have internal or external cut outs for sockets, and can be used in partition and desk divider systems.

The end-to-end process is managed in house, we work collaboratively with you to ensure your design is produced to your specific requirements, so you can be confident your glass is under our complete control.

Colours and finishesMagnX White uses a standard white backpainted toughened glass which allows us to offer superior value for money on this range.

MagnX Painted is available in standard, metallic and sparkle finishes and it is applied to low iron extra clear glass as standard. This glass is practically colourless, making it the perfect glass for delivering true colour. Our in-house paint process provides flexibility to choose your own colour, either from an established colour system or using colour-scanning technology to match a specific colour sample.

The painted and printed range means we can also print bespoke text, images or patterns in varying opacities. Once the ink is applied and fired onto the glass, the print becomes a scratch resistant and waterproof finish, providing a hardwearing alternative to vinyl applications or UV cured inks.

Our MagnX product is backed by a full quality control process and paint library which ensures that all painted and printed panels produced over the course of a project are of a consistent shade and quality. Using unique digital scanning technology we use an approved control colour sample to match against which is kept on file for any future work requiring the same colour.


End uses Product make upMagnX is ideal for creating bespoke boards such as hotel room or ward occupancy, day planners, to do lists or they can be decorated to inspire creativity in a classroom – the possibilities are endless.

MagnX-DS Our double-sided version comprises two pieces of glass with the magnetically receptive sheet in between, allowing for both sides to be used as a dry wipe board and be different colours or patterns if required. Our standard thickness fits most partition systems, but please check with us ahead of ordering.

MagnX-EOur single sided cladding version of MagnX is adhesive fixed and allows for panels of up to 1500 x 3000mm (finish dependent), giving you complete control to clad walls to your custom sizes.

MagnX-CFMagnX Concealed Fixings is available in 14 fixed sizes and can be manufactured for portrait or landscape orientations or in custom sizes. The panels come with full fixing instructions, fixing brackets and an affixed rubber stop to prevent bowing of the panel.

ACCESSORIES:

• Gx Glass provides a comprehensive range of wet and dry wipe accessories, as well as the super strong magnets required to work with glass wipe boards. Please contact us for further information.

• Please be advised that due to their small size and strength magnets should only be used by children under adult supervision due to the choking hazard, and because the magnets required for magnetically receptive glass board means they can snap together with quite substantial force.

MagnX-EWhen used as cladding MagnX-E is most commonly adhesive fixed to a suitable non-absorbent and smooth prepared substrate using a neutral curing silicone from our approved list, allowing a flush fit with additional panelsMagnX-E can also be mechanically fixed subject to manufacturing tolerances.

When using an adhesive we strongly recommend a low modular silicone product and fixed to a clean, dry and sealed surface.

MagnX-CFMagnX-CF fixing system uses wall hanging eccentric disks and magnets and fixing instructions are supplied with the panels. The panels can be fitted side by side.

MagnX-DS MagnX-DS can be framed or clamped for free standing panels – please check the tolerances of your channels/system before ordering.

Artwork requirementsWhen supplying artwork for printing or sandblasting our specification is as follows:

Images / Bitmaps (printing only):

Please ensure that all proofs are final, that text is converted to vector outlines and any compound paths or clipping masks have been applied and expanded where necessary.

Cleaning and aftercareMagnX can be cleaned with a standard dry wipe eraser to remove dry wipe pen.

To remove chalk marker MagnX can be wet cleaned on the glass outside face only.

In most cases, glass can be washed with plenty of clean water. Sometimes a bit of mild, neutral detergent or a dedicated glass cleaner can be used, this can be a commercial glass cleaner.

Ensure any cleaning product is wiped off straight away, it should not be left to dry on the glass and care should also be taken to avoid the cleaning product from running over the edges of the glass and running into the gaps around the glass as this can damage the seals or the painted side of the glass.

The recommended cleaning materials are either a soft paper wipe or lint free cloth, both of which should be new. To avoid scratching the glass surface no abrasive materials should be used. Do not try to remove impurities while the glass is dry.

When removing fat or greasy streaks (e.g. fingerprints), the cleaning agents should always be applied onto the full glass surface. MagnX and all other types of glass panels any spillages and stains should be cleaned off immediately to avoid permanent markings of the glass.

Gx Glass recognises the importance of meeting client requirements regarding product quality and the possible impact on the environment.

Our ColourX paints are water-based with very low VOC levels and are also extensively tested for adhesion and longevity. ColourX and CeramX-Digital are both inert once cured to the glass, so there are no hazards to the environment when it is recycled. Our metal backing for the MagnX range is also fully recyclable at the end of its life.

Our pallets and wooden stillages are made from sustainably sourced wood and can be returned to us for re-use.
