Creating my magazine cover

To start with I took my image and duplicated the layer. I slightly blurred the original image using gaussian blur filter to eliminate any distraction to the purpose as the background had a lot to draw your eye too. I also darkened the image using the levels tool. Using the eraser tool I erased the model and main focus in the duplicated layer revealing a crisp and clear model and a slightly blurred and distorted background.

I used dafont.com to create a masthead for my cover.I wanted one which would be easy to read on top of the background image.

I used the magic wand tool to eliminate any borders around the text. This made the text boxes clearer.

I added a price and a barcode to finish off the magazine.

I then added my cover lines using the type tool. Iv used various different types of fonts and sizes so some capture attention more than others.

I used a colour scheme of two colours, pink and white which work well together.
