FC Sketch• This is my front cover design. I plan on keeping the main

layout, the artists names, the plugs and the pull quote. I am also going to keep the flashes and the colour scheme used however I’m going to change the top flash and the use of colour in the plugs as the red used on the hair of the model may not stand out effectively. I have laid it out in this order as it is not too disorganised and messy, like for a pop music magazine, but it not too strict on structure, and not too plain like for a classical music magazine. Similarly, use of colour has been chosen as the colour scheme chosen is not too bright and ‘in your face’ like for a magazine targeted at a younger audience, but not too plain and simplistic like a magazine which would be targeted at a younger audience. Therefore the FC will effectively appeal to the correct market segment and clearly show genre.

Contents page sketch• This is my contents page design. I am planning on keeping

the layout of the page, and the stories used with graphic features. However, some of the images used for these graphic features may need to be changed as when doing my photo shoots, I may find that it’s too difficult to take pictures in the way that has been designed. I have used many graphic features within the layout as when doing my research into products similar to the one I will be producing, I found that this was a typical and popular design. I have stuck as closely as possible to the colour scheme used on the FC as a clear colour scheme will give the magazine a clear and consistent gere throughout

DPS Sketch• This is my double page spread design, I’m planning on

keeping the main layout of the page and the picture used, however I plan to change some of the font use, e.g. for the main text as this may be difficult to read when it comes into a smaller font, and the text used for the ‘Miss Gilesy’ header as this may be difficult to read on top of the bricks that will be in the background. I am also not going to have the main text in a box, it is going to be placed against the picture as when using a different font and with the right colours, this may look more professional and stand out effectively. I am going to make the picture used on the page a bit bigger as this would bring more focus towards the picture rather than the header. I have ensured the central image of this page takes up more room than the text itself so not to overwhelm the reader, and after doing research on products of a particular genre, I have found that is a popular design within this genre.
