The main colours used for this magazine cover are black, white and red, which sort of add to the theme of rock.A small bit of Yellow and Gold are used on some text at the top and bottom.

The magazine displays what band they will be focusing on, in this case, AC/DC. Most of the band are looking quite serious apart from the member on the far right of the page, who has a smile on his face. This could imply that their music is partly serious, but it can also be fun and laid back kind of music.

The magazine also advertises the 4 free gifts that come with the magazine. 100 Page Book, Die-Cast Badge, 15 Track CD, 5 Guitar Picks.

The main colours used on this magazine are Red, White, Black and Grey. The Black, White and Grey are quite dull, and simple colours, where as the bright Red used stands out among the other colours.

The page uses 3 different types of fonts. ‘USA’ is a Sans Serif, ‘got the love’ is a Handwritten/ Calligraphy type of font, and ‘She’s 2009’s biggest success story, with America at her feet. So why is Florence Welch lying on her floor attacking herself?’ and The rest of the article excluding the Drop Capital ‘D’, is a Serif font. The serif font used for the article is used in the correct place as it is the most important part of information on the page, and has to be easy to read. It also helps it look more professional.

The main image, and only image, is of Florence Welch, the singer from Florence and the Machine. This lets us know what she looks like, and also to recognise her in future articles or on Television etc. She takes up a whole page allowing the reader to know that the article will be based/ talking about her.

The second page on the double page spread is roughly half full with writing, and is neatly laid out on the page. The fairly small amount of writing taking up just over half of the second page, makes it seem as if there isn’t that much to read. It is split up into three columns, and starts with a Drop Capital.

This is he double page spread for the classick rock magazine featuring the famous band Aerosmith. It was released in october 2007. Each page has 2 columns of text Displayed which keeps a tidy layout. There are pictures of the band, as well as a picture of Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith. Each new paragraph starts with a Drop Capital which is also in a more stylish font. This allows he reader to perfectly see where a new paragraph begins. The audience will be able to identify this as a

section from Classic Rock because they will be familiar with the picture to text ratio. The double spread is typically more pictures than writing because they make the page look more interesting. If there was more writing then people might be less likely to read the whole article. The article uses language which reflects the bands social class/status and also their personality, the tone of the article is also quite formal as people reading this magazine will be quite mature. For example, “Jimmy made the guitar his own instrument, he never once gave up on his passion for music”, this implies that music is a very important thing to Jimmy and also reflects the bands nterests. Also, the quote is not informal or slang. Most of the images are black and white, these reflect the age and era of the band aswell as drawing attention to the members. However, Steven Tyler’s picture is in colour. This helps to catch the readers eye before they read or look at anything else.
