If you love the cartoons of Moderna de Pueblo (@modernadepueblo), today’s your lucky day because you’re about to get to know a new side of her. We’re visiting the cartoonist’s home to discover her style and favourite Kave Home pieces. The woman behind the witty drawings is Raquel Córcoles, a journalist, publicist and comic book illustrator who posts under the pseudonym “Moderna de Pueblo” on social media. We had a peek around her Madrid apartment. In the living room, one of her essential pieces is the Blok sofa. In pink and with a chaise longue! In keeping with the minimalist yet characterful style, we find the Palmia coffee table matched with the Linha side table.

An armchair is one of Raquel’s essentials and Meghan is the

chosen one. She went for bold mustard and the choice is spot on: the solid ash legs look fantastic with the coffee table. And that’s not all - the Anat rug completes the living room mood by adding another splash of vibrant colour. Just like the Blok sofa, it looks made-to-measure for this living room. We love her choice of decorative details: geometric vases, art on the walls, hand-made mirrors, bright cushions and sustainably-made rugs... And no city home of a small-town girl could be without plants. Her favourite piece? The Ridley movable lamp, as it’s such a versatile piece that you can take anywhere around the house. Having a space to find inspiration and feel comfortable is very important for Raquel. For

her work area, she’s chosen the Tangier office chair, versatile and modern enough to match the natural elements of her home office.

Raquel loves to have people over so her other essential piece of furniture is a dining table that everyone can get around. What makes her place so different is the mix and match of colours and styles in one place. If your home also has open spaces, the trick is to focus on details and combine materials to create visual harmony. Raquel has successfully integrated her kitchen into the overall look of her home by using functional elements such as chopping or serving boards to decorate the space. What about you?
