His hoody links with David Cameron’s idea of “Hug a hoody”.

Cover line asks questions, suggesting that there is a media witch hunt.

SPECIAL REPORT: making consumers see this as a specific issue with an article that is only included in this

particular magazine.

Picture and “Special Report” slightly cover the masthead. This shows that the magazine is popular and will readers will be familiar enough with it to recognize it.

The picture of R Kelly makes him look troubled and serious about the allegations against him.

Music magazines are generally associated with upbeat themes, however this issue is dark and shadowy to represent the investigative tone of the article.

“Wants you” this cover line talks directly to the reader, raises

questions.

“Porn” and “New Songs” are highlighted which adds to the intrigue.

The entire front cover is very symmetrical and all the text borders around his face which represents the pressure he is currently under.

“Ridin’ dirty” references to a rap song when talking about motorbikes, the rap song also links in with the genre of the magazine.

Colour theme of red and black suggests danger and menace.
