I like the colour scheme as I believe the colours go nicely together to convey the right effect. The colours used are red, black, white and brown. The background colour is light to make the central image stand out.

The title ’Vogue’ is overlapping the front model and is red to stand out and let the reader know what brand of magazine it is.

There are also subtitles on the cover to show the reader what stories are in the magazine and make them want to buy it to find out more, specifically about fashion.

Vogue is an extremely famous, popular magazine so the title is in its classic font that is used on every vogue magazine.

The central image is a well-known fashion icon and model called Cara Delevingne which will draw fans of Cara in and proves how famous the magazine is itself. This shows that the audience of the magazine is women and perhaps teenagers as Cara is well known amongst them.

The outfit Cara is in revolves around the colours brown, white and beige perhaps portraying that this particular magazine is an autumn edition. Her makeup colour scheme is nudes and browns to match the autumn theme and her clothing. I would say the shot is a middle shot as half her body is shown.‘THE BIG FASHION ISSUE’ is in red

writing and capital letters showing it is important to the cover and that this is a special issue of the magazine.

The background colour is grey which I believe is a trait for vogue magazines to have a plain background colour to make the titles and image stand out rather than the background colour. This also means a variety of colours can be used for the writing on the cover.

The number ‘460’ is in a large text to highlight the size of this issue and to entice fashion and beauty fans to buy this issue

BBC logo in the corner of magazine so reader knows who has produces the magazine.

The cover title ‘Good Food’ is in white brightly standing out from the blue background. ‘Good’ and ‘Food’ are also very similar words in the way that they’re spelt so go well together.

The main colours used throughout the cover are white, blue, yellow and red. All these colours are summery colours matching when the magazine was issued- in June marking the beginning of summer.

The central image is of a towering strawberry and cream cake. This picture matches the summer theme with strawberries presented through and on top of the cake. The central image should draw food lovers in and also people who would like to learn the recipe.

The back ground colour being blue could present the sky in summer. The pale blue theme also forces the central image to stand out more as it contrasts against the blue.

The colour yellow is also a connotation of summer with yellow being the colour of the sun. Yellow is also a bright colour making the smaller headlines stand out and show the reader what is included within the magazine and hopefully make them curious to buy and read on. The word choice ‘new’ presents curiosity the reader especially if you are a subscriber to the magazine you will want to find out what’s new.

The word ‘Plus’ is in bright yellow, capital letters and also a bold effect highlighting it on the page. The word ‘plus’ presents the idea that the magazine is full of recipes and information making the magazine sound more exciting/appealing to the reader. It almost gives the idea that there are bonuses to buying this magazine.

Page numbers help the reader in that they can go straight to the page that interests them the most.

Here we can see two young girls appearing to be smiley and happy which could portray the idea of a family buying a new cosy home. One of the girls is whispering to the other linking to one of the smaller headlines ‘design secrets’ as whispering

The masthead is in quite a bright pink colour which contrasts with the white/greyish background. I believe this pink goes nicely with the colour scheme of black, white and brown adding a nice colour to the cover. I would like to interpret the idea of dull, dark background colours with a bright masthead into my magazine cover.

Here a puff has been used to emphasise on why a reader should buy this magazine. They are claiming to choose the ‘best new products.’ The adjectives of ‘best’ and ’new’ draw the reader in and reinforces this magazine as being the best home magazine. Italics have also been used to give the cover different typography. Plugs have been used

down the side of the cover and a text-wrap style has been used as different lines are longer than others to go with the modern wooden statue in the corner. The word ‘secrets’ has been used to cause curiosity in the reader. The plug of ‘Home of the Month’ will draw lovers of homes in. The typography of ‘exclusive’ is italics with a colon showing this subtitle to be significant. Giorgio Armani is of course a

The white background adds lightness to the room and cover. The large window causes this effect also. I believe editing may have been used on the window to give the allusion of sunlight coming through the window.

A monochrome floor has been used to make the house and front cover appealing and well established. The black and white effect gives a classy feel to the home and the black and white contrast of one another making the cover stand out.

The magazine has purposefully used wooden furniture on the cover as it looks sophisticated and goes with the monochrome theme. There are also other pieces of wooden furniture in the room showing that the room has been well chosen/organised.

Here a banner has been used along with a list/triple to inform the reader of a summary of what is in the magazine. The background of this is a turquoise colour matching the blue theme.

Here alliteration has been used of ‘tabby tubby’ gives a comedic feel and draws lovers of cats in. The magazine is also showing that it can help with the health of animals. The use of a rhetorical question is something I would interpret into my

The main image on the cover is of a very cute happy –looking dog. The dog is white standing out from the blue background. The tongue of the dog is very pink again standing out from the whiteness of the dog and the blue background. The tongue is too pink making it appear that it has been edited to make the cover stand out more.

The masthead is dark blue again standing out from the lighter blue background. It is underlined in white to reinforce it as the masthead. The idea of ‘best friends’ links to the idea of dog being a man’s best friend.

Here a triple has been used. It is also a pun on the well-known phrase ‘Lights Camera Action’ to go with the dog theme.
