EmpireMasthead- it is bold and stands out as the most important text on the page, the font used gives it an edge which I think works well. The colour links in with the film as red signifies blood and suggests a hint of horror.

Main Image- the image is of one of the main characters which will connect to its audience as the film is in a sequel. The image is shaded on one side of the face which adds mystery showing something is being hidden.

Background- is all black which again adds a mysterious feel and dark colour are linked to horror however twilight is categorized into the fantasy genre.

Headline- this is the title of the film presented even though it is smaller than the masthead it does stand out because the colour yellow is very bright and stands out however it still looks professional, the colour links in with the headline as yellow is similar to the colour of a new moon.

Banner- promoting a free poster

Buzzword- promoting an exclusive product for the magazine

Anchorage text- explaining what is included about the film.

Puff- helps make the text stand out.

Entertainment weeklyPuff- helps make the statement stand out, uses a very bright colour against a dark background which helps engage the audience.

Masthead- it stands out however it is set back behind the puff and main image which hides its importance, this only works well as it’s a very well known magazine. The colour fits in well as its bright against a dark background.

Headline- the white stands out well and contrasts against the dark background, the font is very plain and does not link in with anything as it stands out bold however the only purpose it has is to tell you the name it does not carry a story itself which is unusual.

Main image- the image stands out well almost in a 3D feel, the colour used are very light and this is even more noticeable over the dark background, the image represents the couples relationship well and shows that they are the main characters. The lighting used for the image is very light but empathizes their importance.

Background- there is a noticeable amount of water which adds an edge to the cover as there is no apparent reason why water is visible. Ripples on the water are visible this could link in with things not being settled.

Anchorage text- this gives a small explanation of what is inside the magazine but all links in to the film advertised.

Odeon MagazineMasthead-this stands out well as the colors' are contrasting by being white on black, the masthead is very plain however the sparkles on the corners of each letter links it with the magical feel of the main topic included in the magazine.

Banner- this shows what is included in this magazine, making them stand out by being at the top of the page.

Puff- this stands out as the pink is very bright against the back and is the only non mono colour on the magazine, the statement inside it stands out as its short and snappy and gets straight to the point.

Headline- this headline is in a smaller font showing it is less important than the masthead however it has the same sparkles on the letters which shows a link.

Anchorage text- this is used to help sell the film it is a sentence which sums up the meaning of why this film is being publicized by the magazine and showing what the spread may include being as vague as possible.

Main image- from the image you can see that it is the main characters and from the body expressions it also looks closed like they are hiding a secret, the male character also looks domineering from the way he is looking over the female character.

Background- the smoky feel of the background gives it an edge as it could show that something is being hid. Also because its on a black background it makes the smoke stand out giving it a closed feel like something is being hid from the audience.

Buzzword- this is usually a one word explanation in this case it is a selling point letting the reader know that they get something which is free this could help to sell the magazine.
