Typography It appears that the majority of the typography maintains a certain style which could be influenced by the same font. This differs from the actual typography for the name of the artist. This appears to be more custom which could be used to illustrate the personality of the artist or to simply make their name stand out from the rest of the text to draw the attention towards the artist. Similarly to the rest of the text, the typography remains white which contrasts with the black background. This again attracts audience attention. Colour Colour is clearly a large aspect of this advert although not explicitly so. The background is dark and plain being black which then really enhances the use of colour surrounding and on the photograph of the artist. This could again be used to draw more attention to the artist. Although the colours stand out, they are still quite dull colours with some occurrence of brighter colours. Due to the Image The image within this advert illustrates quite an adventurous yet mysterious atmosphere. The background appears to be quite an ancient rock of some sort with wild flowers and plant growing along it. The artist stands in front of this background, not facing the camera but instead looking down with her eyes shut suggesting she may be quite shy or somewhat ashamed. Looking down could also be a sign of weakness and with it being quite an ancient setting, we may decode the meaning to her being lost possibly. Although we may associate the more vibrant colours of the natural background as quite a positive tone, the artists facial expression denotes this view as she looks quite sad, serious and also fed up. Positioning Positioning of elements within this advert may be significant. The name of the artists and the album that it is promoting is at the top of the page suggesting that it is of most importance to the target audience. This implies that it is the popularity of the reputation of the artist that will draw the target audiences attention to the advert in the first place. Positioned in the centre of the page is the image of the artist. This may generally be used as a tool to attract the audience. There is no thing external to the image

TypographyIt appears that the majority of the typography maintains a certain style which could be influenced by the same font.

ColourColour is clearly a large aspect of this advert although not explicitly so. The background is dark and plain being black which then really enhances the use of colour surrounding and on the photograph of the artist. This could again be used to draw more attention to the artist. Although the colours stand out, they are still quite dull colours with some occurrence of brighter colours. Due to the majority of the advert being quite dull, these lighter and more vibrant appearances could be used to attract the target audience as they skim through the magazine rather than skipping through it.

ImageThe image within this advert illustrates quite an adventurous yet mysterious atmosphere.

PositioningPositioning of elements within this advert may be significant. There is no thing external to the image hovering over the image and so it does imply that it does have importance. It could suggest that the artist herself is untouched and natural as supported by the nature of the background.

TypographyAll typography within this article remains the same and follows a certain house style. The font type used can be seen as quite extravagant and over the top. This could indicate what the personality of the artist may be like or simply be used as a method to attract the audience to the advert. All of the colour of the typography is fluent throughout, there are no different shades. The colour is in relation to gold which could suggest richness and a prestige attitude.

ColourThere is a house style for the colour whereby all of the text is exactly the same colour despite being in different sizes according to importance. The colour of the text resembles a gold colour which could suggest that she is rich, upper class and prestige. Those are the general connotations of this colour. Some may also denote this colour to resemble a star, seen to be advertising a stars image. Some references within the background of the image resemble a gold colour furthermore sticking to the theme. This idea of rich and prestige is further supported by the use of props within the image with the visual of a crown and a gem.

ImageThe image focuses mostly on the star herself. Whilst some may refer to her as the sole focus of the advert, others may say that her use of costume and hair style simply blends with the lower background therefore taking some of the effect away from her. The use of royal colours in the background further takes the spotlight away from the star as they catch more of the attention of the audience/reader. One certain aspect upon the star, the use of makeup does actually draw attention to her more so. The use of pure red lipstick, which is positioned to be central of the quite high key, white theme, draws a considerable amount of attention to the artist. Again, the colours and props used within the image may be seen to illustrate their personality of the style of music that she is advertising.

PositioningAs it appears on the advert, it would suggest that the artist is slouching in a chair. With her hair covering one eye and quite a provocative facial expression, it suggests that she is not the typical rich, prestige character. She could however be considered to be more of a modern version - the type of character/personality that audiences look up to and idolise. With her slouching, it portrays an image of her not caring and almost taking advantage of the role that she plays. With the characters costume being pure white, it suggests innocence and perhaps that how she is perceived as an artist, however her attitude within the image itself resembles more of a careless approach.
