since the establishment of Madurai Kamaraj University, and

MKU distinguishes itself not as a college but as an

unlike a college, is here to serve a larger purpose where

getting a degree is not the primary focus, Prepares the student

with great efficacy for equipping themselves to the future needs

4SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Among the Thousands of students who take

the MKU Entrance Examination, only about

hundreds make it to MKU of which only 66

are selected based on GD and Personal Interview. This highly rigorous

procedure ensures that only the best of the lot make it to this

University.

Since 1966, Madurai Kamaraj University has been working towards

becoming one of the most renowned universities in the country. Since its birth, the

university has attracted many of the brightest minds in India. Located at the vibrant

conjunction of Madurai's historic landscape and civilisation, Madurai Kamaraj

University has grown to be one of the most respected names in the field of

research and technical education in the country. The most vibrant features of Madurai Kamaraj University include an

accomplished faculty striving relentlessly in making the eager young minds into beacons of glory.

The foundation stone of our University was laid down by the Former President of India Dr. Zakir Hussain

in 1968. This University was accorded the status of "University with Potential for Excellence" - A status conferred by

University Grants Commission so far on 9 such Universities in the Country. It has been re accredited by NAAC with

Grade ‘A’. Madurai Kamaraj University, has 18 Schools comprising 73 Departments. The University has 133

affiliated Colleges (16 Autonomous) including other approved institutions and 5 evening colleges.

Madurai Kamaraj University is one of the best educational and research institutions in the country.

Today, the institution is recognized as an University of national importance. The cumulative accomplishments of its

highly talented and widespread alumni association is responsible for ever growing tradition and reputation.

the z/OS and the basic mainframe concepts.
