Produced by Made in BC - Dance on Tour (MiBC) in collaboration with the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society and The Post@750, this showcase/pitch event features 14 artists selected by the Made in BC Pre-senter Network and Artists Advisory Board: Daina Ashbee, Peter Dickinson.

Welcoming remarks from the staff at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society and Joyce Rosario, inter-im Artistic Director of the PuSH Festival offer attendees opportunities to learn more about local nonprofits and their outstanding work.

Founded in 2006, Made in BC - Dance on Tour occupies a unique niche in the dance and performance milieu of the province. Through our MainStage program, MiBC lies at the intersection of artists and presenting organizations through its facilitation of inter-connections and knowledge-sharing between their work and BC communities. In par-ticular, Made in BC supports artists to create stronger connections with the province and also helps its network of presenters with subsidized fees and networking opportunities to better support artists to present new, contemporary works in their communities. Aboriginal Friendship Society Centre The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) was registered in 1963 under the British Columbia Act as a non profit organization. The Centre has been providing quality programs and services to the community for over 50 years. Mission Statement: To provide practical tools for accomplishing our visionary ends through socio economic programs and services that empowers self reliance; responsibility; success and prosperity, for all urban Aboriginal individuals, family and community. The mandate of the centre is to meet the needs of the urban Aborigi-nal People making a transition to the urban community. Please join us for the Vancouver launch of two new publications contributing to the discourse and scholarship of curatorial practice in the performing arts: Curating Live Arts: Critical perspectives, essays, and conversations on theory and practice (Berghahn Books) and Essays from Configurations in Montréal: Performance curation and communities of colour (booklet published by Concordia University and Slippage: Performance / Culture / Technolo-gy).

TECH: Anne Daroussin - Originally from France, I am a Vancouver-based Stage & Production Manager with 10 years of experience in performing arts and film. ASSISTANTS: Ileanna Cheladyn, Hayley Gawthrop MUSIC: Zahra Sahab / VIDEO: Abigail Markowitz and Asad Yahya WRITER: Carolina Bergonzoni - I am privileged to be a dance artist and scholar based on the unceded Coast Sal-ish territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. I hold a BA and an MA in Philosophy (University of Bologna, Italy), an MA in Comparative Media Arts (Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada) and I am currently a PhD student in Arts Education at SFU. My research interests include dance, disability, phenom-enology, arts-based research and dance education. My academic work has been published in Italian and Canadian journals. Since 2011, I have been working toward building communities of movers and thinkers. I work with the integrated dance company All Bodies Dance Project and I continue to perform, create, and spread my love for movement as an independent dance artist.
