Made in America
Tuesday-Friday, suggested
York County is the Factory Tour Capital of the World. From motorcycles to potato chips, York County offers a glimpse behind the scenes at the making of some of America's favorite products. In addition, York County is a great place to explore the rich history of Pennsylvania and the United States. The first capital of the United States, York provides a number of unique museums and historic sites. Highlights of your tour could include:
Martin’s Potato Chips Central Pennsylvania is considered by many to be the
snack food capital of the world. From the farm
kitchen of Harry and Fairy Martin, back in 1941, a
unique potato chip found its way into the hearts and
homes of York County. Business soon outgrew the
kitchen. The Martin's built a small factory and
expanded their distribution from delivering fresh
daily to market
stands, to also
selling to mom and
pop grocery stores.
