Attention: MACO RS/DS & Alpha users

Subject: Obsolescence Status of Older Platform MACO Products

Please be advised that effective July 1, 2012 Invensys Eurotherm US will be allowing itsolder MACO products to move into what Eurotherm calls Obsolescence Level 1. Thisproduct status is also known as Under Review for obsolescence. While in Level 1, theproduct will remain fully available per our standard delivery schedules.

Products included in this move are:

MACO 4000, 5000, 6000 and their derivatives (4500, Custom 40, etc) MACO DS MACO RS MACO Operator Stations associated with the above MACO EM-3 (but not EM-3c) MACO Breeze II (but not Breeze IIc)

Our plan is to move these products to end of life on the following schedule: Level 1(Under Review) Our current plan is have these products remain in

Level 1 for one year. However, this could be lengthened, depending on our

inventory levels at the end of one year. It is also possible that this period can be

shortened if we are faced with a component part obsolescence issue, although at

this point it time, we do not see this occurring.

Level 2(Special Order) For the products referenced above, our plan is todiscontinue the building of systems, but continue to sell field serviceable parts

(boards, connectors, etc.) through this period. These products will be in Level 2

for one year. Level 3(No Longer Available) Our goal will be to continue servicing the

product for a minimum of 5 years. In truth, we suspect that we will be able to

service this product much longer than 5 years.

Level 4(No Longer Serviceable) It is unknown at this point as to when theproduct will move to Level 4.

As you might guess, there are a number of reasons for this decision. Many of theseproducts have had exceptional long life cycles of 14-20 years, and are now fully

replaceable by our MACO Compact platform. In fact, MACO Compact is currentlyoutselling older MACO products 3 to 1. With this change we will also be able to focusmore on MACO Compact within our business providing you with the best in machinecontrols.

We hope that this news will be received with general acceptance. We know that thiscan be a sensitive issue for a number of our customers who still have these systemsoperating within their facilities. However, with a planned product end of life cycle

program like this, we feel that we will be able to assist you with any migration to ourcurrent offerings that might be necessary in the next few years.
