Ask the Right QuestionsOur local businesses are constantly being solicited to help support various fundraisers. In an effort to determine if your dollars will benefit our local organizations and groups, we have determined a list of questions that could be asked. Often times when you are contacted you are told a portion of your dol-lars will be given back to the community. We are then under the assumption the caller is working directly with our local schools, Chamber of Commerce or a local organization. When called upon some things to ask may be:

- Where are you calling from? - Are you printing and/or advertising locally? - Do you have permission to use the organizations name/logo? - How will this benefit our local organization? - Are you working with any local media to promote? - Are you offering any scholarships from the revenue? As you are being solicited for funds, please ask appropriate questions to determine if your dollars will benefit local organizations. With everyone’s help, we can keep your dollars right here in Marshfield helping those you want to help most! New Visions Gallery Hosts Fun d’Arts: Art Deco!On Saturday, February 1, 2014, New Visions Gallery will be host-ing Fun d’Arts, a unique fundraising event that features laudable live and silent auctions, succulent cuisine and memorable entertainment at RiverEdge Golf Course. The theme for this year’s event is Art Deco and it promises to be an unforgettable celebration of rich color, bold geometric design and lavish ornamentation (and everything else the 1920’s-40’s had to offer!). Proceeds from Fun d’ Arts are used to sustain the nonprofit mission of the gallery: to provide opportunities to experience the visual arts through exhibits, permanent collections, the gallery shop and educational offerings.

Tickets for Fun ‘d Arts are available now at New Visions Gallery (located in Marshfield Clinic). Hours are Monday-Thursday 9 am - 5:30 pm and Friday 9 am - 4 pm or by contacting the Gallery office at 715-387-5562 or [email protected].

Building Blocks to Success Offers Training Programs MACCI’s professional training programs are designed for managers, supervisors, team leaders and team members essential to growing your business success. For your convenience, programs are held at MACCI from 8 am - 11:30 am and offer topics related to every day business.

On Wednesday, November 13, “Communicating Across Generations” will be presented by Judy Meyer. This module provides insights to help you honor, appreciate, and identify with different generations. As you learn to connect and ommunicate more effectively with one another, you can begin to view differences as healthy and see how they provide exciting opportunities to collaborate on innovative solutions.

Today’s workforce may be comprised of as many as four generations working side-by-side, and connecting with each other may present even more of a challenge. Each generation has their unique mindset, work style, and ways of communicating. Learning to work and communicate across generations has become vitally important to building a cohesive, productive, and successful team.

Cost to attend is $79 for members; and $179 for non-members.

Call MACCI at 715-384-3454 to register.
