(describing possessions) Phonics practice activity Ask the children to repeat: There’s a fish on the dish! The dish is in a shop. The shop is on a ship! Follow-up activity Play a memory game. Tell the children to choose one object from their desk or bag. Ask them to come to the front of the class in groups of five or six, hiding their objects. When you say, the group show their objects to the class for five seconds and then hide them again. The other children say what the group has: e.g. Ali has got a ruler! The children reply: Yes, I have or No, I haven’t. Change groups and continue. Answers 1 Make words. Match the words to the pictures. 1 ship [1 mark] 2 dish [1 mark] 3 fish [1 mark] Each word should be matched to the correct picture.
