3. WHEN THE ULX IS INSTALLED BY TRENCHING, THE ULX SHALL BE FILLED TO CAPPING LAYER WITH AN APPROVED FILL. FILL IS TO BE COMPACTED TO � 5 SPECIFICATIONS. BALLAST IS THEN TO BE RESTORED TO THE CORRECT PROFILE AND ANY VOIDS UNDER SLEEPERS FILLED & TAMPED.

4. OUTSIDE THE TRACK FORMATION THE FIRST 5 mm OF FILL ABOVE THE PIPES SHALL BE STABILISED SAND.

5. IF ROCK IS ENCOUNTERED THEN THAT PART OF THE ULX WHICH PASSES THROUGH ROCK SHALL BE BACKFILLED WITH CONCRETE MIN, 15 MM.
