READINGS FOR THE WEEK

Dar Los Frutos de Dios........................................................................................de Nuestra Parroquia La mayoría de las fiestas tienen comida y bebida como signos de abundancia. Todo se celebra alrededor de la mesa, don-de siempre hay frutos de vida. El compartir los frutos de la tierra y de nuestro esfuerzo es signo de hermandad. Todos quere-mos tener éxito, lograr frutos en la vida, poder decir al final de ella que hicimos algo bueno o importante; pero debemos ha-cernos algunas preguntas: ¿por qué? ¿Para qué? ¿Cuál es el objetivo final que perseguimos en nuestras acciones? ¿A quién va a favorecer? Y, lo más importante de todo, ¿con qué fuerzas cuento? Las respuestas a estas preguntas nos darán, en cier-to modo, la medida en que daremos frutos o no; pero, sobre todo, se trata de pensar a quién estamos unidos para lograr esos frutos. Si contamos solamente con nuestra propia fuerza, las cosas van a ir mal. Confiar mucho en uno mismo ✤como confiar demasiado poco✤ lleva a la esterilidad sin remedio. Cuando alguien se fía mucho de sus propias fuerzas, acaba irre-mediablemente por ver cómo se le desmorona todo, como si fuera una torre de naipes. Se veía bien, pero era inestable. Qui-zá hayamos tenido experiencias como esta: hacer, triunfar, tener éxitos y luego llegar a un punto donde todo se derrumba y parecemos la sombra de quienes éramos. No hay vida. Entonces sería bueno preguntarse qué había debajo de cada logro: ¿solamente la confianza en nuestra propia fuerza? Ahí tendríamos la respuesta de por qué ocurrieron las cosas de esa forma. De la misma manera, siempre que algo ha dado un buen fruto, algo ha hecho bien a otros y ha resultado en gracia, bendi-ción y bien para otros, podríamos preguntarnos qué o, mejor dicho, quién estaba detrás. Ahí también encontraremos la res-puesta: solo puede haber verdadera vida cuando Cristo está presente. En el evangelio de hoy se nos dice que quien no está unido a la vid verdadera, quien no tiene su fundamento en algo sólido (y algo verdaderamente sólido, que da vida, sola-mente puede ser Dios) no solo se hundirá, sino que se secará y morirá. Cristo no es solo la base, sino la savia y el todo; sin él, no podemos hacer nada.. ¿A qué aspiro? ¿Qué bien traería es¿Qué frutos pienso que se me piden? ¿En quién me apoyo? ¿Cómo mantengo viva mi relación con Dios, para que pueda dar frutos?

✥✦✧★✩✪✫ ✬✭✦ ✮★✯✩✬✰ ✱★✲✳ ✴✲✵✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✷✷✷✱★✲✳ ✸✯✦✰✬★✧ ✹✧★★✲✺✯✩✧ Most festivities have food and drinks as signs of abundance. Everything is celebrated around the table, where there are al-ways the fruits of life. To share the fruits of the earth and product of our labor is a sign of brotherhood. We all want to succeed, to achieve fruits in life, to be able to say in the end that we did something good or important; but we must ask ourselves sever-al questions: Why? For what? What is the final objective we seek with our actions? Who is it going to favor? And, most im-portant of all, what strength do I count on? The answers to these questions will provide us, in a way, the measure by which we will bear fruit or not; but above all else, it has to do with thinking about whom we will count on to achieve these fruits. I f is only on our own strength, things will go wrong. To rely too much on ourselves✤or too little✤leads to barrenness without remedy. When someone relies too much on their own strength, he or she will irremediably see how everything collapses, just like a tow-er of cards. It looked good, but it was unstable. Perhaps we have had experiences like this: to do, triumph, have successes, and then arrive at a point where everything collapses and we are left with a shadow of who we once were. There is no life left. It would be good then to ask ourselves what was beneath of each achievement: was it just confidence on our own strength? There we would have the answer as to why things happened the way they did. In the same way, whenever some-thing has bear good fruit, something has been beneficial to others, has resulted in grace, blessing, and good toward another,

we could ask ourselves what, or better yet, who was behind it. Here too we will find the answer: there can only be real life

La segunda colecta de hoy va destinada para el FONDO DE MANTENIMIEN-TO Y ADMINISTRACIÓN. SEAMOS GENEROSOS. Se hace una atenta invitación a todos los niños/as a que vengan al rezo del santo rosario y al ofrecimiento de flores a la Santísima Virgen María, que duran-te todo el mes de Mayo, tendrá lugar en la Iglesia, empezando a las 5:25 p.m., de Lunes a Viernes. Les rogamos traigan flores para ofrecérselas a la Virgen María. Padres de familia: motiven a sus hijos/as a que participen y tráiganlos a honrar a nuestra madre del cielo. El próximo Martes, día 1 de Mayo, se dará inicio a esta devoción religiosa Mariana. La celebración de la misa será en los días Martes y Jueves como se ha estado llevando. LAS PRIMERAS COMUNIONES de nuestros niños/as de segundo ano de catequesis, serán D.m. el próximo Sábado, 12 de Mayo, a las 9:00 a.m. en la Iglesia. Pedimos, tanto a los niños/as como a sus familiares, que sean puntuales a la ceremonia. El tiempo de calor esta a la vuelta de la esquina y necesariamente nos alige-ramos de ropa. Recordamos a los fieles que la Iglesia es casa de oración y se merece respeto. Pedimos a todos que vistan decentemente.
