Morris led 2. to 1 until the seventh when the Lime Rock pitcher tired and Mount Morris batsmen went to work, col- lecting a total of 12 hits : in ..the game. ' ,: : . Bob. Kelley was on the mound for the locals all 'the way. He gave up 7 hits, walked two and struck out 12 batters. It was the first.time Kelley ever pitched a full game and he made a fine Showing. Moyette was behind the plate for the Merchants. Carmen Griffio of Geneseo made Ms first appearance for Mt. Morris in Sunday's game at second, base. The big hitters for Mt.- Morris were Gus Zaso with a double and two singles, Moyette with a double and a single, T. Sardinia with two. singles, Kelley with two singles. Griffo, Miceli and Fici each v had singles. "Those who played in Sunday's game were Kelley (P), Moyette (C), S. Sardinia (IB), Griffio (2B), T. Sardinia (SS), Miceli (3B), Zaso (LF), Albahese (OF) -and- Fici' (RF). The Mt'Morris Merchants will play host to the Nunda Merchants this Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at Bell- amy Park. Rochester has been granted a franchise in the Ontario Rugby Football Union and is the first non-Canadian team ever to be admitted to a Canadian league. It is expected that several ex- college and professional players will be signed for the Rochester team along with several Canadian play- ers. Livingston County Soil Conservation District, returned June 2nd,from three weeks of train- ing at Soil Conservation Training Center, Research Station, Coshoc- ton, Ohio. „ He was one of 23 men from-11 different States representing the Central and Eastern parts of the United States. It is the' policy of the Soil Con- servation Service to train all em- ployees in conservation practices to be better qualified to assist farm- ers in establishing soil and water conservation practices on their farms.- ' While there, he went on a tour of the Muskingum Conservation Dis- trict. The Muskingum District was formed in 1933; as a result of floods in 1913, when 500 persons lost then- lives and property damage reached $300,000,000. By 1939, they had con- structed 14 dams, at a cost of $50,- 000,000 in the feeder streams of the Muskingum River for flood con- trol. Ten of these dams have im- ponded permanent lakes totaling over 15,000 surface areas which pro- ride fish and wildlife habitat and water borne recreation for a vast region almost devoid of natural lakes. I t is t he ' policy of the Soil Con­servation Service to train all em­ployees in conservation practices to be better qualified to assist farm­ers in establishing soil and water conservation practices on their farms.- '

While there, he went on a tour of the Muskingum Conservation Dis­trict. The Muskingum District was formed in 1933; as a result of floods in 1913, when 500 persons lost then-lives and property damage reached $300,000,000. By 1939, they had con­structed 14 dams, a t a cost of $50,-000,000 in the feeder streams of the Muskingum River for flood con­trol. Ten of these dams have im-ponded permanent lakes totaling over 15,000 surface areas which pro-ride fish and wildlife habitat and water borne recreation for a vast region almost devoid of natural lakes.
