  • FEATURES HITACHI Air-Cooled Water Chillers has been developed for outdoor installation, featuring economical and reliable air conditioning systems covering residential, commercial and industrial cooling requirements. READY-TO-OPERATE All units are completely piped, charged, wired and tested with actual heat load before shipment and units are ready to operate only by connecting water piping and power wiring. HIGH EFFICIENCY By the combination of super slit-finned tube condenser and brazed plate heat exchanger cooler, highly-efficient cooling operation has been achieved. ADVANCED COOLER WITH BRAZED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER Due to the benefit of brazed plate heat exchanger, the occupied volume can be reduced in a large scale and even get better cooling capacity. CLEAN WATER COOLER By using brazed plate heat exchanger cooler of stainless steel and pure copper, this chillers can eliminate rust and corrosion. Providing a reliable source of water that meets the highest purity requirements for industry use. RUST AND CORROSION PREVENTION All covers are in material of galvanized steel with electrodeposition synthetic resin and baking paints. And all covers fixing screws are in stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion occurred.

    REDUCED INSTALLATION SPACE Thinly compact and completely packaged in weather-proof cabinet design to offer quick and low cost transportation and installation even for narrow locations. SILENCER FOR DISCHARGED AIR The optimum design with high efficiency fan and forward curve air discharge duct to reduce sound. REMOTE CONTROL CONNECTING TERMINAL Reserved connecting terminals for remote control usage. It is easily for remote controlling from indoor control switch or fan coil units control switch. CONVENIENT CONTROL MODE SELECT The unit has a Control Mode Selection Switch to furnish Local Control or Remote Control modes switching. When proceeding service or maintenance works, the Local Control mode can provide convenient ON/OFF operating control and also isolate remote control circuit for preventing from accident.

  • CONTROL SYSTEM

    Refrigerant Circuit In addition to the basic air-cooled water chiller components (compressor, condenser and water cooler), the following components are equipped in each circuit. Strainer This strainer is equipped at the liquid refrigerant piping, and filter foreign particles from the liquid refrigerant. Capillary Tubes The capillary tubes are equipped for refrigerant flow control.

    Standard Electrical Control Sequence A field-supplied main power switch supplies power to the unit. When all safety devices and the thermostat are calling the cooling operation, the condenser fan and the compressor are automatically operating by pushing the operation switch. The compressor are protected against the harmful cycling operation by timer relay and manual restarting system; the timer relay cut in the compressor operation approximately three minutes after the thermostat has called. For details, refer to the typical wiring diagrams.

  • CONTROL SYSTEM

    Protection and Safety Control The safety and protection devices are equipped in the unit to ensure dependable and long life operation. Their functions should be carefully noted, and field adjustment is not recommended, if the setting is maintained at the point listed in the table. Compressor Protection 1. The pressure switch protects against excessive

    discharge pressure. This switch cuts out compressor operation when the discharge pressure exceeds the setting.

    2. Over-current relays equipped in the magnetic switch box cut out each compressor operation when the current to the compressor exceeds the setting.

    3. The surface thermostat on the top shell of compressor is cut out the compressor operation when the temperature

    of the top shell exceeds the setting. Condenser Fan Motor Protection The over-current relays for the condenser fan motors cut out fan operation and compressor operation, when the current to the fan motor exceeds the setting. Refrigerant Circuit Protection 1. The fusible plug equipped immediately upstream of the

    capillary tube melts, when refrigerant temperature exceeds the melting point.

    2. The freeze protection thermostat, of which sensor is located on the refrigerant tube near the refrigerant outlet of water cooler, cuts out the compressor operation, when the surface temperature of the tube decreases below the setting.

    NOTE: The foundation should be provided as shown in the figures in order to reduce peration sounds of the compressor, coming from the gap between the base frame of the unit and the foundation.

    Wiring Provisions

    Field Wiring The units are internally wired at the factory according to generally accepted electrical technology. Required Field Wiring Main power wiring to the unit, wiring for the chilled water circulation pump and earth wiring are required in the field. Required Components The following components are required: main power switch, main power fuses or fuse free breakers and conduit couplings.

    Wire and Fuse of Fuse Free Breaker Selection Wire and fuse or fuse free breaker sizes should be selected in accordance with national and local codes, taking the design maximum temperature into account. The unit maximum current shall be the sum of the compressor maximum current and condenser fan motor current.

    Standard Specifications UNIT The unit shall be an air-cooled scroll or reciprocating water chiller for application with R-22 refrigerant. And shall be factory-completed with compressor(s), refrigeration cycle(s), air-cooled condenser(s), a brazed plate heat exchanging water cooler, condenser fan motor(s), a direct-on-line starter, protective and safety devices, capillary tube(s), and shall be factory assembled, piped, internally wired and charged with R-22 refrigerant. The unit shall be completely weather-proofed for outdoor installation. The unit shall comply with Japanese Industrial Standards. CAPACITY The cooling capacity of the unit shall be __________ kcal/h or greater under the following conditions: __________ m3/h chilled water flow rate, __________ chilled water inlet temperature, __________ chilled water outlet temperature, __________ condenser air inlet temperature, and water cooler fouling factor of __________ m2h/kcal or greater. The pressure drop of the water cooler shall not exceed __________ mAq. The compressor input shall not exceed __________ kW under the prescribed conditions. POWER SUPPLY The unit shall operate on __________ V, __________ Hz, 3 phase, and shall be capable of operating within maximum __________ V and minimum __________ V.     WATER COOLER The water cooler shall be brazed plate heat exchanging type. The refrigerant side of the heat exchanger shall be cleaned, dehydrated and tested for leakage at the maximum permissible working pressure of __________ kg/cm2. The water side of the heat exchanger shall be tested for water leakage at the maximum permissible working pressure of __________ kg/cm2. The cooler shall be equipped with a freeze protection thermostat to protect against freezing. CHILLED WATER PUMP The unit shall contain stainless centrifugal chilled water pump. The pump must supply water flow rate __________ m3/h. And water head __________ m Aq FAN AND FAN MOTOR The condenser fan shall be the propeller type directly driven by a __________ W motor. The winding and hearing of the condenser fan motor shall be of weather-proof construction. CONDENSER The condenser shall be the multi-pass, cross-finned tube type equipped with aluminum plate fins, mechanically bonded to seamless, oxygen-free copper tubes. The coil shall be cleaned, dehydrated and tested for leakage at the maximum permissible working pressure.
