Introduction
Specifically created for Microsoft Silver and Gold Communications Competency System Integrators (SIs), Lync In-a-Box is
designed to bring together the Lync ecosystem solutions so that partners and customers can take advantage of its broad choice,
price range and variety, in a simpler and efficient way.
The program provides SLAs, value added services, and deal support, including up to 50% discount on hardware. The program’s
offers include USB peripherals, IP phones, and Gateways, from 10 Lync partners; and bundles through distribution. More agility,
competitiveness, and discounts!
Lync In-a-Box Program Offering Lync In-a-Box has 2 distinct offers:
Offers from Lync hardware and device partners presented here in the Lync Hardware Catalogue: These special offers are
designed for production pilots of 100 and 250 users. All offers are created by and owned by the Lync hardware and
device partners. SIs and resellers need to order each offer independently through distribution.
Distribution bundles offered through Distributors*: Distribution bundles are packaged by participating distributors.

Lync Hardware Catalogue
Lync Hardware Catalogue offers are created by and owned by the Lync hardware and device partners. Different from the
distribution bundle, SIs and resellers need to order each hardware component separately through distribution to create a unique
bundled solution for the customer.
IP Phones
IP phones tested and qualified for Lync are either Optimized for Microsoft Lync or Compatible. IP phones Optimized for Lync
offer a rich and integrated experience giving customers the power to get the most out of their Lync experience and return on
investment. Built from the ground up for Lync, these phones come in different models designed to meet specific business needs,
including a rich information worker experience, a basic desk phone, common area phone, or conference room phone.
Compatible IP phones are tested to provide basic interoperability and quality of experience, these standard IP phones run
manufacturer OS, and do not require gateways for interoperability. They are tested to perform core call functionalities, basic
security, and manageability through 3rd party software. Phones under this program are currently being tested for compatibility
with Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

The purpose of the Plantronics Voice Pilots and Voice-in-a- Box Promotions (“Promotions”) is to provide Microsoft customers
with an opportunity to trial Qualified Plantronics UC audio devices prior to making a purchasing decision by way of a production
‘Pilot’ or to purchase devices for a full Lync deployment.
By participating in either program, Participants accept and agree to be bound by the full Promotion terms and conditions:

The 7 key requirements of the Voice-In-a-Box Promotional terms and conditions are set forth below.
1. Participant Requirements- Participation in the Promotion is limited to those companies who are certified Microsoft Voice
Partners and are approved Silver or Gold members of the Microsoft Partner Network who meet the requirements as
described in these Promotion Conditions (“Participant”) with the Promotion being available from August 15, 2011
through June 30, 2012, or while supplies last (“Promotion Period”).
2. Promotion Limits: This Promotion may not be combined with any other Plantronics end user promotion or with any
other Lync optimized or non Lync optimized Competitor headsets.
3. Qualified Products: For purposes of this Promotion, Qualified Products include the Voyager PRO UC headsets and Savi
DECT wireless headsets defined as (“Wireless Products”); the Blackwire corded headset and the Calisto USB
speakerphones defined as (“Wired Products”).
4. Signed Scope of Work: Participant is required to submit a signed Scope of Work (“SOW”) from the customer to a
Regional Plantronics UC Contact, which must include the potential number of total active Lync enterprise licenses and
UC end devices required for the broader company deployment, as well as the number of Proof of Concept active Lync
enterprise licenses and Plantronics UC end devices needed for the Proof of Concept deployment.
5. Device Limits: Participants may request Qualified Products in an amount of up to 10% of the number of total active Lync
enterprise licenses and associated UC end devices required for the broader company deployment. By way of example, if
there are 1,000 UC end devices needed for the broader company deployment, Plantronics will provide up to 100
Qualified Products on a trial basis.
6. Device Mix: The Qualified Product mix for free Devices will consist of 90% Wired Products and 10% Wireless Products.
7. Device Trial Period: Participants may use the Qualified Products for a one-year period from date of Participants’ receipt
of the Qualified Products (“Trial Period”). At the end of the Trial Period, if the customer does not purchase the devices
required for the full company deployment, they must return the Qualified Products to Plantronics. If the customer does
not purchase the devices required for the broader company deployment and fails to return the Qualified Products to
Plantronics, they will be ineligible to participate in future promotions, giveaways, sample requests or discounts from
Plantronics.
