Fundraising Auctioneer Laura Michalek still relies on the endurance and discipline she possessed when at the age of 15, she was the first female winner of the Chicago Marathon. While Ms. Michalek has hardly missed a day of running since then, it’s this intention to excel at what she loves that is most evident. “To me Auctioneering is about giving a lot of yourself, before and during the event,

in a way that most folks wouldn’t expect.” Her style, fundraising insight, and commitment to her clients and their mission, not only sets her apart, but has

112 Seven Nights at Chez Emmanuel

in Paris, France

Chez Emmanuel is located beside Notre Dame, on the Ile de Cite. It is in the very center of Paris and is an easy walk to most every site, as well as 200 yards away from the St. Michel RER stop. The lines serve the airport, Gare du Nord and Versailles. !Chez Emmanuel includes two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twins which can be made into a queen, a bath and a half, and a full kitchen

with coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar. A great room for the living and dining areas is between the two bedrooms, which allows for privacy. The apartment comes with a laptop (with links to favorite Parisian "Foodie" stores) with wifi and a printer, a tv with English stations and two DVD players (one for American and one for European DVDs) with a DVD library, a landline with free calls to the US, Canada, England, etc., two French cell phones, and a separate washer and dryer. Included are bathrobes, linens, and bath products from L'Occitane. The manager, David, is incredibly helpful and can get you settled. 117 One Week Long Session at Castle

Rock Ranch Camp

Castle Rock Ranch Camp is a summer camp for kids located in the Bitterroot Mountain Range in Idaho's northern panhandle. They are a kids camp with a farm-to-table curriculum, located on a ranch with a mile of frontage on the Coeur D'Alene river. Their mission is to cultivate an interest in ranch life, the outdoors, sustainable food, gardening, and agriculture, and to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the natural world in a soul-rejuvenating, rural setting. Kids ride horses and float down the river everyday, but also learn about ranch animal care and growing food. The majority of their food comes from the ranch: with an extensive vegetable garden and over 100 blueberry bushes, strawberry plants, and a raspberry orchard, in addition to chickens, cows and goats. Campers help with ranch chores in the morning – milking the goats, collecting eggs, feeding the animals and harvesting from the garden – and have the opportunity to help in the kitchen if they're interested as well. !About a six hour drive from Seattle and free pick up available from Spokane Airport. When buying auction items, all contributions in excess of the fair market value of the items are tax deductible as a gift to a charitable organization. Lake Washington Girls Middle School urges all attendees, donors, and contributors to consult IRS Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant. !Payment Options Registering for Express Pay allows you to prepay for the evening’s purchases and skip the lines at checkout. If you do not make any purchases the evening of the auction, we will void and shred your credit card information or signed check.

Sign up for Express Pay when you register by leaving a signed credit receipt (MasterCard, Discover, or Visa) or a check with our registration team, and we will record your purchases throughout the evening. When the bidding is over, your account will be updated, and you’re on your way. About a week after the auction you will receive your receipt and any other paperwork (gift certificates, etc.) in the mail.

If you choose not to use Express Pay, checkout will open at 9:00 p.m. We accept cash, checks (the best two options for the school), MasterCard, Discover, and Visa. Please make checks payable to LWGMS. Sales tax will be applied as applicable. !Checkout Procedures Checkout does not open until 9:15.

If you registered for Express Pay:

1. Skip the checkout/cashier lines and proceed directly to item pickup.

2. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the auction areas to assist you.

3. Your receipt will be mailed to you in the week following the auction.

If you did not register for Express Pay:

1. Proceed directly to checkout/cashier after 9:15 p.m.

2. After paying for your evening’s purchases, volunteers will be stationed throughout the auction areas to assist you with gathering your items.
