1 Dwarkadhish Temple:

Having its existence since 1400 years, this temple is also known as Jagat Mandir, which means the ‘Temple of the World’. Portraying the image of Lord Krishna, the Dwarkadhish temple has been built of sandstone. People from all over the world visit this temple during the festival of Janmashtami and Navaratri. This temple is located in the Dwarka.

2 Akshardham Temple:

A vast structure of elaborately carved pink sandstone, the Akshardham temple stands tall and wide in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Built by the Hindu Swaminarayan Group, this temple is a display of the forever evolving Indian art, values, and culture. It is one of the recently built pilgrimages, and was inaugurated in the year 2005. This temple is surrounded by vast gardens and lawns.

3 Jama Masjid:

Also known as the Friday Mosque, this mosque was constructed in 1424, by the then Mughal Emperor Ahmed Shah. This mosque is located outside Bhadra Fort area in Ahmedabad. Jama Masjid is a vivid display of yellow sandstone and has a single large rectangular-shaped courtyard. It comprises of 15 domes at various elevations, which look breathtaking. A visit to this ancient architecture will tell you a lot about the inscriptions and culture of the Mughal era.

4 Mount Girnar:

A part of the Junagadh region, Mount Girnar is a popular pilgrimage destination for the Jain community. Located at a height of 600m, one has to climb 10,000 steps made of stone to reach the temple. The hill comprises of 16 Jain temples and a Hindu temple – The Ambe Mata Temple. This place houses one of the oldest Jain temples, which is dedicated to Neminath- the 22nd Jain Tirthankar. Mount Girnar is visited by hordes of Sadhus and pilgrims during Mahashivratri.

5 Sun Temple:

Built by the Solanki dynasty, the Sun temple has its existence since 1026-27. It has been constructed in such a manner that the sun rays fall on the image of Surya during dawn. This temple is located in Modhera, located on the North-West of Ahmedabad. It is a beautiful display of magnificent carvings during the era it was built. It also comprises of fifty two intricately carved pillars that depict various scenes from the Sanskrit epics of Ancient India – Ramayana and Mahabharata.

6 St Thomas Church:

Converted into the Diu museum, the St Thomas Church is a spending display of Catholic wood carving. Christians visit this church in numerous numbers once every year on 1 November.
