For a final project, students will collaborate in small groups to create websites through guided research on pre-approved topics that include internal and external text structures.

For a final project, students will participate in guided research to create independent websites that include writing in a variety of internal text structures and visual external text features.

text structures. Teacher guides understanding of organizational patterns. Students explore high level reading passages and analyze text structures.
For a final project, students will independently research a self-selected topic to create their own websites. Each text structure is represented in a full length article with visual components. Finally, students present websites to their peers.

Placement in Algebra I HNRising 7th grade students will be placed in Algebra Honors based on all the following:
Successfully completing Advanced Mathematics (Compacted or a year-long accelerated program in 6th grade.
A score at or above the 91 percentile on the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test.
A score at or above 500 on the Virginia Standards of Learning grade 7 mathematics test.
