• Component Factors:

family income

• Ratio of Qualifying Income to Median Income

• Index interpretation:

Index=100 when median family income qualifies for

an 80% mortgage on a median priced existing

single-family home. Index > 100 indicates that

more than half of buyers can afford to purchase a

median-priced home.

• The higher the index, more can buy
