CM at Risk Revisions(Coming Soon)
• GC 4.7 Self Performed Work becomes a defined term and must be provided by the CM’s or CM Affiliated Entity’s direct employees
• GC 6.22.1.1 Revises CM’s obligation to correct Defective Work and recover schedule deficiencies from “begin to correct … and recover” to “promptly commence and diligently pursue correction …”
6
@OHFacilities / #OFCConf17
CM at Risk Revisions(Coming Soon)
• GC 6.27.1.2 Revises obligation to notify insurers providing property insurance for the Project from “A/E with the assistance of the Owner” to “Owner with the assistance of the CM and A/E”
• GC 9.2.3.2 Modifies payment of CM’s Fee from “percent complete basis” to “earned Cost of the Work on the basis of the CM’s Fee percentage identified in the Agreement”

@OHFacilities / #OFCConf17
CM at Risk Revisions(Coming Soon)
• GC 9.2.8 Requires CM to develop Alternates during Preconstruction and permits Owner to use “buy-out savings” to add them to Project
• GC 10.1.5 Requires CM to deliver the new “Acknowledgement of Surety” form as evidence Surety received notice of increase
• GC 10.4 Certified copy of complete builder’s risk insurance policy is a condition precedent to payment of any portion of Contract Sum

Hybrid DB/Performance Contract(May 2017)
• Uses appropriate aspects of each delivery method to benefit both the State and ESCOs
• Two-step best value selection process from Design-Build: RFQ to shortlist 3 firms for RFP
• Best value from performance contract: 70% qualifications, 20% savings, and 10% cash flow
• Pricing transparency from DB: Fee + Design Fee + Cost of Work (Project Development Compen-sation instead of Preconstruction Compensation

RCI Interface Article – Oct 2013Preliminary Analysis of Energy Consumption for Cool Roofing Measures
23
@OHFacilities / #OFCConf17
Stanford Study Cool roofs may contributeto global warming
• Effects of Urban Surfaces and White Roofs on Global and Regional Climate– 20 yr. simulation of converting all roofs to white– Results showed local cooling of 0.02K however:
• Global temperatures increased by 0.07K• White roofs reflect heat back up into the
atmosphere where it mixes with black and brown soot particles to increase global warming

Unified Facilities Guide Spec 2012
• ”Standards such as LEED® promote the use of cool roofing, and increased energyconservation through additional insulation. Consider that when cool roofing is used withinsulation R-Values greater than 24, the “cool roof” surface has little if no influence on theenergy performance of the building. Additionally,
• Condensation on the underside of mechanically-fastened systems can result in ice build-up inwinter, mold growth, on the facers, moisture dripping into the interior, and replacement of theroofs with less than four years of service.
• Poor design of cool roofs in ASHRAE climate zones 4 and higher have resulted in the— a result of the material’s
inability to warm and drive moisture downward. Roofs that experience this condensation havehad to be replaced.”

What is Lean?
Lean means creating more value for customers with fewer resources. A lean organization understands customer value and focuses its key processes to continuously increase it.

Value Proposition for scanning
• SSOE safety-always culture: zero incidents, zero exposures, and zero injuries
• Engineers spend more time engineering and less time measuring in field resulting in a better design
• Geographic dispersed teams can virtually tour a site
• SSOE returned $1.5M in VP to our clients
@OHFacilities / #OFCConf17
• Standard of care on our retrofit projects
• Rely on vendor network
• Scan 2 BIM provides no value
