At East Carolina University I majored in Engineering with a concentration in Industrial Systems Engineering. As a part of my college curriculum I had to earn several credits in writing intensive courses outside of college English courses. Each engineering course I completed at ECU required numerous lab reports written in a technical format along with other reports and research documents. For each major lab project I was a part of, I worked with another colleague or a team to both conduct the research and write and edit any reports associated. I have also received some training in proposal writing through my engineering capstone project. I wrote case studies for an Engineering Economics course, also in a technical format. I also completed a Project Management course in which I had to work with a team of my peers to develop a pest control plan for a community garden, which included research of organic pesticides and pest control methods, preparing presentations for monthly updates on project status, and preparation of a technical report containing researched alternatives, cost analysis, environmental impacts, and projected effectiveness.
