What is this seal?

The sealing is a special experience with Jesus that will so set their hearts that they will never change, never fail Him. An experience so strong that neither life nor death can change it. This deep love for Jesus is the special experience that we and our children must gain.

This experience of the Israelites was written for the instruction of those who should live in the last days. Before the overflowing scourge shall come

upon the dwellers of the earth, the Lord calls upon all who are Israelites indeed to prepare for that

event. To parents He sends the warning cry: Gather your children into your own houses;

gather them away from those who are disregarding the commandments of God, who are

teaching and practicing evil.

Knowledge of Vice Is Spread by Its Victims.-- Those who have become fully established in this soul-and-body-destroying vice can seldom rest until their burden of secret evil is imparted to those with whom they associate. Curiosity is at once aroused, and the knowledge of vice is passed from youth to youth, from child to child, until there is scarcely one to be found ignorant of the practice of this degrading sin.

One corrupt mind can sow more evil seed in a short period of time than many can root out in a whole lifetime. {CG 443.2}

With what care parents should guard their children from careless, loose, demoralizing habits! Fathers and mothers, do you

realize the importance of the responsibility resting on you? Do you allow your children to associate with other children without being present to know what kind of education they are receiving? Do not allow them to be alone with other children. Give them your special care. Every evening know where they are and what they are doing.

Those who secure for their children worldly wealth and honor at the expense of their eternal interests, will find in the end that these advantages are a terrible loss. Like Lot, many see their children ruined, and barely save their own souls. Their life work is lost; their life is a sad failure. Had they exercised true wisdom, their children might have had less of worldly prosperity, but they would have made sure of a title to the immortal inheritance.--"Patriarchs and Prophets," pp. 168, 169.

Parents will have a fearful reckoning to meet in the day of judgment. The Lord will inquire, What have you done with MY heritage in the children I gave into your trust? {RH, March 13, 1894 par. 7}

We are faithfully to teach our children God's commandments; we should bring them into subjection to parental authority; and then by faith and prayer to commit them to God, and He will work with our efforts, for He has promised it.
