Additional – Non Banner Database Management (Short Term)• Challenge

• There are over 19 databases that need to be managed effectively. Several databases in this group have not been managed by a professional and could have serious security vulnerabilities.

• Solution • Managed Services can do an assessment of the application and provide oversight

for a 2 month period to help bring the environment up to a secure state.• Assessment (Performance, Security, Backups, etc.)• Documentation of Environment• Backup Monitoring• Emergency Support in case of critical issue

• Advantages –• Databases will be review by experienced personnel• Receive a documented environment of your databases being used.• Team of experienced DBA to help with understanding and troubleshooting

environment.• DBA team that can install the database for Ad Astra.

• Price• $32,000 over a 2 month period

• Outcome• Reduce security risk and improve operations of the environment• Astra Project can start moving.


Programming Support• Challenge

• The technical staff implementing Banner are overloaded and struggling to keep up with the demand. The demand include help with programming and report writing.

• Solution • Managed Services can offer experienced remote programming support in 1/2 FTE

increments. • Advantages –

• Individuals assigned are experienced in relevant technical skills, implementations, and report writing.

• Individuals are backed by a technical and management team in case they need assistance.

• Individuals review project and issues with department during meetings. This facilitates the use of work that has already been accomplished and accelerates the progress and effectiveness of your onsite team.

• Individual can provide leadership and guidance to onsite programmers with less Banner experience.

• Evaluation of long term cost effective solution• Along with dedicated FTE you will have access to “just in time resources” with

skill skills in Banner Student, HR, and Finance for reporting.• Price

• Average of $208,000 per year for 2 years (1.5 FTE in Y1, 1 FTE in Y2)• Outcome

• Reduce security risk and improve operations of the environment.• Provide a recommendation on how to best manage the environment.
