The increasing relevance of smart solutions for
an increasingly smarter world was very much
in evidence at the ‘Smart City Exhibition India
2015’ at which L&T’s Smart World &
Communication (SW&C) BU along with L&T
Infotech showcased their multidimensional
smart infrastructure capabilities.
At the exhibition held from 20th to 22nd May
2015 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, L&T’s
smart offerings were showcased in a 64 sq.m
stall across the domains of city surveillance,
critical infrastructure, buildings, transport,
water, energy, information technology,
highlighting its role as a Master Systems
Integrator (MSI) for smart world solutions.
The event featured a conference on smart
cities which was chaired by Mr. R. Srinivasan,
Vice President & Head, Smart World &
Communication BU, who threw light on various
aspects of smart cities, urban planning and
shared a roadmap for converting the idea of
smart cities into reality.
He elaborated upon L&T’s capabilities as a
leading MSI for smart cities and made special
mention of the prestigious Mumbai City
Surveillance project for Home Department,
Government of Maharashtra.
The recently commissioned City Surveillance
and Intelligent Traffic Management System
(CSITMS) project covering three key cities of
Gujarat and the pilot smart campus facility
being developed at L&T Construction’s Head-
Quarters in Chennai were also highlighted by
him.

Mr. Jayant Kohale from SW&C BU along with
Mr. V. Chandrasekhar, EVP, L&T Infotech
briefed the visitors to the stall, prominent
among whom were Mrs. Yashodhara Raje
Scindia, Hon. Minister for Commerce,
Industries & Employment, Madhya Pradesh; Mr.
Chandrakant Khaire, Hon. MP, Lok Sabha; Mr.
S. C. Bhargava, Senior Vice President &
Business Head, L&T Electrical & Automation
and international delegations from Sweden,
Norway, Poland and Belgium. The team’s
presentation and track record thus far won
them appreciation from all quarters.
