Not less than two of the self-igniting lights shall be provided with lifebuoy self activating smoke signal. Lifebuoys with lights and smoke signals shall be equally distributed on both sides.

  • INFLATABLE LIFERAFT CONSTRUCTION.The main buoyancy chamber shall be divided into not less than two separate compartments,each inflates through a non-return valve.Each of them will be capable to support,with positive freeboard over the life rafts entire periphery with its full complements of person on board.The floor shall be water proof and shall be capable of being sufficiently insulated against cold either by means of one or more compartments that the occupants can inflate,or which inflate automatically and can be deflated and re-inflated by the occupants.

  • INFLATABLE LIFERAFT CONSTRUCTION.Shall be capable of being inflated by one person. Shall be inflated by non-toxic gas.Inflatation shall be completed within 1min. (at 18c-20c) and within 3min. Two sea anchors,each with shock resistant Hawser and tripping line (if fitted),one being spare and the other permanently attached to the liferaft.The sea-anchor shall have means to prevent twisting of the lines and shall be of a type which is unlikely to turn inside out between its shroud lines. Life rafts,other than in Passenger ship,are to have the sea-anchors deployed automatically when the liferaft inflates.7.   • ABANDON SHIP DRILL.DIFFERENT LIFEBOATS SHALL BE LOWERED AT SUCCESSIVE DRILLS. EACH LIFEBOAT SHALL BE LAUNCHED WITH ITS ASSIGNED OPERATING CREW ON BOARD AND MANOEUVRED IN THE WATER AT LEAST ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS DURING AN ABANDON SHIP DRILL. IN CASE OF FREE-FALL LIFEBOAT,THE INTERVAL WILL BE 6 MONTHS. RESCUE BOATS SHALL BE LAUNCHED EVERY MONTH WITH THEIR ASSIGNED CREW ONBOARD AND MANOEUVERED IN THE WATER.
