WelcomeWelcome to the latest edition of the LRQA training directory. The directory contains outlines on all of our courses, dates, locations and cost, enabling you to comprehensively find the right course in the right location.

LRQA training has developed a suite of courses to support our health and safety clients in their migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001. ISO 45001:2015 is the new international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management and will replace the existing OHSAS 18001:2007. With the publication date of ISO 45001:2016 fast approaching LRQA training has launched the ISO 45001:2016 DIS (draft international stage) Update Workshop. Read more on the current status of the standard and the workshop on pages 4 and 5.

For our clients that are transitioning to the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, we have a new course for those involved with the implementation of the new standards. To help you plan and prepare for the transition journey ahead, a great starting place is LRQA’s half day ‘New Standards Summary’ which is a top-level overview of the main changes to the standards and areas that require focus. Read more on pages 6 and 7.

Usual terms and conditions apply; 10% discount is only applicable to public training delivered in February and March 2016. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, or public training that has already been booked.

LRQA ISO Standards UpdateWhat does ISO 45001 mean for organisations using OHSAS 18001?With the publication of the new International Occupational Health & Safety Management System standard ISO 45001 expected in October 2016, many organisations currently certified against OHSAS 18001 will be looking closely at its development.

For organisations currently using a management system based on OHSAS 18001, adoption of ISO 45001 will allow for easier integration with existing management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 which use Annex SL as a common high level structure.

It is also hoped that organisations using OHSAS 18001 will see ISO 45001 as an opportunity to further integrate Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) into their overall organisational processes.

Steve Williams, LRQA System and Governance Manager, said, “ISO 45001 is being developed whilst taking into account the complex and varied needs of a global market place which currently uses a range of standards to manage OHS risks. The new standard will make it easier for organisations to align their existing management system without conflicting with any existing documentation or processes.”

LRQA Training Guide Spring/Summer 2016 5

Will my current 18001 management system certification be taken into consideration when adopting the new standard? As ISO 45001 is a new standard, LRQA will work collaboratively with organisations to develop an effective plan to support any move from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the global accreditation governing body, is working on a set of migration criteria which will take into account existing certification against OHSAS 18001, for those organisations wishing to adopt the new standard.

How can LRQA support our clients to migrate to the new standard? With ISO 45001 now at the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage, LRQA have launched the ISO 45001:2016 DIS Update Workshop.

The workshop has been designed to offer delegates an overview of the additional or changed requirements defined in ISO 45001:2016 when compared with OHSAS 18001:2007. The major difference being that ISO 45001 will follow the same common terminology and structure of Annex SL, as with all new and revised ISO standards.

Managers, process owners and internal auditors with overall responsibility for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, will need to identify the changes in order to ensure that the processes and system they are responsible for remain in conformance with the new standard, thereby enabling the organisation to remain certified. The workshop is a great starting point to support migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001.

As the standard progresses’ LRQA training will provide a full suite of ISO 45001:2015 training courses to support organisations with their migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001. See page 36 for course details.

Nearly 9 out of 10 large organisations have suffered from some form of information security breach, according to the 2015 Information Security Breaches survey.
