“When I first moved to Jakarta, I started to learn bahasa Indonesia by myself. I bought many books and studied at home for 2 weeks, however I s�ll could not communicate with local people. The course at IALF however, made me feel comfortable,relaxed, and eager to learn the language more. The IALF offers a five-week semi-intensive course in Bahasa Indonesia, suitable for beginners. The course has been designed for those who have recently arrived and therefore includes informa�on on customs and cross-cultural issues.

The course begins with topics such as introduc�ons and gree�ngs, naming objects, telling the �me, dates, months and years and builds to include, shopping and prices, making comparisons, loca�on and direc�ons.

Instructors are experienced na�ve-speaker teachers of Indonesian as a Foreign Language. All hold a university degree and teaching qualifica�on, and understand the types of difficul�es experienced by adult language learners. Though they will teach primarily through the medium of Indonesian, all are fluent speakers of English.

The program runs from 10.00 - 12.00, Monday, Wednesday andFriday for five weeks, a total of thirty hours.
