General Rules• Robots accepted for the competition: QROX / K'nex

• Objective: To develop cooperation and teamworking skills as well as leadership and strategic thinking, and to apply knowledge in robotics, pulleys and levers.

• Critical thinking

• Teamwork

• Problem solving

• Attention to details

• Team members: 3 to 5 members per team

• Winner: The team that has the greatest score on distance and accuracy.

• Playing mode: All vs All

• Teams per round: 1

• Team members operating the robot: 1

• Round duration: 2 minutes

• Qualifying rounds: 3

• Finals: quarter-final, semi-final and final

General Rules• Game specifications: Teams must build arrow launchers, like crossbows, catapults or any mechanism

that allows shooting of arrows. Rubber bands are allowed. The built mechanism has to be attached to the ground and can not exceed the official size: 60x60x60 cm

• Each round has two phases, one for distance and the other for accuracy. • In the distance phase, each team has to shoot 5 arrows as far as possible. Each arrow has to be shot by

different members of the team during a time lapse no longer than 3 minutes. The total score is the sum of the distances of all 5 arrows.

• In the accuracy phase, each team has to shoot 10 arrows to a target. The score of the 10 launches will be added to get the total score. Each member of the team has to throw at least 2 arrows during a time lapse no longer than 3 minutes.

• At the end of each round, the grand total score will be the sum of the distance and accuracy scores. • Maximum size per robot: 60x60x60 cm• Math Bonus: extra arrow• Court size: Distance: 2x20 m, Accuracy 2x20 m• Materials needed for the competition: arrows and target

Arrow

• The arrow is made of ABS material with a flexible tip. It is printed in 3D.

• The diameter of the tipis 4 cm. The diameter ofthe shaft is 1 cm and thelength is 30 cm.

Launching: distance

• The team will shoot their arrows and they will score depending on the distance achieved. Each meter corresponds to one point. Example:

• Arrow 1: 2 m• Arrow 2: 3 m• Arrow 3: 2 m• Arrow 4: 5 m• Arrow 5: 7 m

Total score: 19 points

• The distance recorded depends on the location of the arrow at the end of the round.

Launching: accuracy

• The judge will supervise the scoring when the team shoots their arrows.

• Available scores are 2, 5 or 10.

• The team scores points when the arrow hits the inside of the scoring circle completely.
