Summer Garden Guidelines:

1. Keep maze/picnic table area free of weeds - pull/dig out plants and weeds. 2. Keep paths free of weeds and overgrowth – pull/dig out plants and weeds; cut back plants that fall into the

paths.3. Cut back any flowers that have passed their bloom. If you dead head some of them, they will continue to

bloom…4. Seek out and destroy – dandelions, thistle, grass from the lawn, rose bush (gone wild), baby trees that plant

themselves, etc… These pictures are common weeds found in the garden

This is pokeberry – these plants have massive roots – so dig deep!

5. Do NOT destroy or remove milkweed of any kind (common or swamp) – milkweed is our friend. Our two types of milkweed look like this:

Notice this almost looks like one of the weeds but the leaves are more narrow. This will be found in the lower part of the garden.
