know which plants to start with? Here are some ideas and

information on perennials that are easy to maintain and require

minimal attention.

o One of the easiest perennials to grow

o Flowers are long-blooming and come in shades of White, Pink, and Red.

o Leaves are fern-like and airy.

o Flowers cluster on tall stalks

o Typically bloom in late Spring to Summer and stay in bloom for several weeks.

o Flowers will eventually dry on the plant and remain attractive for many months.

o Astilbe’s need full sun to partial shade to grow to their fullest potential.

• Come in a wide variety of colors including pink, red, and white.

• Showy, frilly, and fragrant flowers that grow up to 4 ft. tall with flowers as wide as 10 in.

• These perennials prefer full sun and dry to moist soil, so be sure the area is well drained.

• Peony’s need to be pruned in late fall, after the first frost, and within a few inches of the ground.

•Flower colors include rose, purple, pink, white,

and a newer orange variety.

•Plant in full sun to partial shade and in well drained soil.•Will grow anywhere from 2-4 Feet tall.

o Small, purple-blue flowers with finely-cut gray green foliage that grow from 3 to 5 feet tall.

o A member of the mint family, so when you crush the leaves they are aromatic.

o Russian Sage should be planted in the spring in full sunlight and well drained soil.

o You will see these plants bloom in Mid Summer to Fall.

o Though they are drought tolerant, this perennial may struggle in a hot and humid summer.
