Tips to Successful Trick-or-Treating Halloween is a fun night, full of trick-or-treating and costumes. Here are a few easy tips to ensure your night is successful: 1. Plan a route in advance—It is best to make sure you know where you’re going. Stay away from unknown areas. 2. Wear comfy shoes—Going house to house can be more fun if your footwear is comfortable. 3. Stay well lit—When going house to house, stay clear of homes with no lights. Be respectful of those not participating. 4. Pick an appropriate costume—Find a costume that fits you well. Avoid long, oversized costumes. 5. Have a flashlight—Flashlights come in handy when you’re going around the neighborhood. 6. Stay in a group— Avoid going off on your own, stay in a group or with a parent. 7. Check your candy—Staying safe is very important, even when it comes to your candy. Ask your parents to check your

treats before enjoying them.
