Agape
Storge

Eros
This love involves doing something and gaining
nothing. It’s compassionate and
unconditional.
This love involves a strong attachment to something that may not be able to respond, like an animal.
This is the love for friends and
family.
This is a physical, intimate love within
a personal relationship.

What is love for Christians?
• For Christians Jesus is love. • They believe that he gave
his life as an ultimate sacrifice for Humanity to show his love.
• Jesus told his followers to love God, and to love your neighbour
• In the Bible they refer to this type of love as ‘agape’.
• This type of love is the basis of the Christian Religion and the ideal way in which relationships should be lived.

What is love for Muslims?• Muslims believe that
we should show love and peace to one another.
• Muslims also believe in agape: showing compassion to those in need. This is seen through the pillar Zakah.
• Muslims believe that marriage is for life.
How do we show love?
Commitment: Making and keeping a promise such as wedding vows.
Responsibilities: Duties you should carry out, such as looking after family members.
