•  Start with Hiring •  Encourage applications with

understanding they will be given tools and resources to learn skills to advance to role

•  Focus on attitude and aptitude as opposed to “resume”

Keep it Coming…. •  Set aside time in work schedule to allow them to

train •  Highlight successes internally AND externally of

career growth via learning •  Budget for classes that employees might need

external to your capabilities •  Let your employees choose their path – at

reviews or quarterly check-ins ask the questions about career growth and what they want to learn

•  Offer nontraditional choices and mix of digital and on-premise learning – some folks like to learn alone too

•  When hiring in new talent – also hire with expectation of learning as part of the hire – but only when internal has been exhausted and vetted

•  Measure and Learn from successes and failures
