CFBT, a home for the blind with multiple disabilities, cares for 2,000 handicapped students throughout Thailand.

These are stories of my gang at the Bangkok school. These kids just make me happy. Why only 5 out of so many? Well, we kind of hit it off. There's no real reason. Love is simply blind.

TipThis little angel is Tip. Blind and autistic, she lives in her own world and spends most of her day lying down. But, every so often, she runs outside, turns her face up to the sun and sparkles in the light. She turns in slow circles, dancing to music only she can hear.

GONGGong is partially sighted and totally smart.

He is big for a 5 year old and often says

surprising and intuitive things. He only

sees in light and shadows, so he has to

get up close to know who you are. He’s

gifted with computers, holding them

against his face and hacking life.

PymThis is Pym. She is 3 or 4, autistic and

perfectly sighted. She is a lovable

little devil. She causes mayhem

without malice. She doesn’t think she

is being bad. It’s just that in her world,

toys should be thrown on the floor,

classes are meant to be disrupted,

and everything has to be eaten.

OMMeet Om. Maybe he got this

nickname because that’s the only

sound he makes. But he says it in

such a wide variety of ways, there

has to be a message there. He is 3

and autistic. He can see perfectly, is

a bundle of energy and is charmingly

naughty.

MutanoiLast, but not least, is Mutanoi. She is

coming up to 10 and is blind. She has been

slow to develop both physically and

mentally. She looks and acts about 6. That

said, she is very engaging and cute.

Listening to half-remembered, out of tune

songs really makes her day!

How to Help

CFBT helps visually impaired and special needs children become useful members of society by giving them the life skills they require. The schools

will be extremely grateful for any assistance you can offer in any area.

Just turn up and hug a kid. Many students are both blind and autistic, and need physical contact. Grab a toy and act silly. You’ll be a hero to the children.

TIME

Clothes, toys, food, educational materials, washing up liquid, diapers and a million other things are needed every day. Whatever your company makes or sells will make a big difference. As always, a full receipt will be issued.STUFF

You may have skills as an English teacher, drama coach, musician, special needs teacher, physical therapist, whatever. Just 1 hour of your time could change students’ lives for the better.

EXPERTISE
