MODULE 3 CONTENT

If you want your skin to look better and to treat those skin concerns that you have, then you need to follow the 3 simple steps –

Prep, Infuse and Nourish. This is ARTISTRY®’s approach to healthier, better looking skin.

In order to improve your skin and maintain the health of your skin, you need to cleanse and tone, treat the skin concern and moisturise – day and night.

Why day and night? Morning skin care should focus on prevention and protection for the day and your night-time routine should focus on cleansing and repair.

PREP products are cleansers, toners, makeup removers and shave products designed to clean skin and prepare it for treatment.

It is important to cleanse your face day and night. At night we build up pollutants on the skin such as sweat and oil and this needs to be gently removed in the morning before applying your day moisturisers and makeup.

Regardless of the time of day, you should also always cleanse your face after working out or working up a sweat, as sweat can clog pores and make acne worse.

As a rule, remember to take your makeup off before bed and resist picking at your skin.

A normal domestic bath soap contains ingredients to strip away oil and debris – that is what they are designed to do. This can lead to our skin losing vital nourishment and hydration and result in dehydrated, dry and irritated skin. If your skin is oily, stripping away surface moisture and vital lubricants can lead to the skin becoming oilier as the oil glands think it is dry on the surface, and produce more oil.

The ARTISTRY cleansers are all formulated to remove oil, dirt, makeup and grime from the skin without stripping the skin of natural and essential moisture.

ARTISTRY toners are called Softening Lotions. They help to remove any residual debris left on the skin after cleansing and prepare the skin for the optimal delivery of treatment ingredients. Serums and moisturising products always absorb and work much more effectively when the skin is damp.

A toner will pH balance the skin so it is immediately at its optimum state.

The third step is NOURISH. This is to moisturise your skin – morning and night. To seal in nourishing moisture and protect skin from environmental damage.

This includes all of ARTISTRY®’s moisturising creams, lotions and eye treatments.

Face Cream/Gel: Hydrates, seals in moisture and provides additional anti-ageing benefits. Available in different textures for skin types or preferences.

Eye Moisturiser: Hydrates, seals in moisture and most provide additional anti-ageing benefits with formula designed specifically for use around the eye area. There are no oil glands around the eye area so a normal moisturiser is too rich for this delicate area. Using a moisturiser around the eye can lead to puffiness and irritated eyes. Your eye cream should be applied before your moisturiser, day and night.

The Renewing Peel addresses roughness, dullness, and flakiness. Rough skin is one of the first signs of ageing.

The non-abrasive Renewing Peel features Mucor Miehei (pronounced may-hi) Extract, a mushroom enzyme. Mucor Miehei Mushroom Extract features an enzyme that exfoliates the skin by breaking down the proteins linking dead skin cells together. The enzyme works when applied to dull skin and self-adjusts as pH levels rise, ultimately shutting itself off without irritating healthy skin.

At first, apply in the evening. If no signs of redness appear, you can then use the Renewing Peel morning or evening.

The Renewing Peel can be used in combination with the ARTISTRY® Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher or the ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare Anti-Wrinkle Firming Serum, as long as it is not used directly before using the other ARTISTRY Intensive Skincare product.

For best results, use with a full skincare regimen.

Should not be followed by use of other exfoliating products. E.g. Polishing Scrub. When using the ARTISTRY Renewing Peel for the 6 week duration, stop using the Polishing Scrub during this time.

SIGNATURE SELECT SERUMS

What are the key ingredients and technologies in each amplifier and the base.

Do Amplifiers lose efficacy if more than one is mixed into the Base Serum? No. The efficacy of the Amplifiers is maximised once they are added to the specially formulated Base Serum. The Amplifiers should not be used alone.

The current spot corrector is targeted to only the dark spots you want to address, not the entire face. Is this new serum going to change the colour of my entire face? The Anti-Spot serum is meant to be used across the entire face and will lighten existing dark spots as well as help prevent future ones from appearing. Remember dark spot formation occurs long before the spot becomes visible on skin’s surface.

Will I get the same results if I use only the brightening amplifier versus using both Brightening and Anti-Spot Amplifiers? No, you cannot expect to get the same benefits. You need to add the Anti-Spot Amplifier to be able to address existing dark spots.

SKIN RENEWAL KIT

Firstly, the program recommends a Skin Renewal Kit. This includes the Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel and Advanced Vitamin C + HA Treatment, Intensive treatments that improve skin cell renewal cycle and provide antioxidant support. This step will prepare the skin for all of the other products. It is like a kick start to your skin program.

Exfoliation is the first step to any skincare regime. If there is a build-up of dead skin cells on the skin it has the ability to:

• Make the skin look dull and lifeless

• Prevent proper absorption of the skincare products to follow e.g. serums and moisturisers

• Block the pores causing break outs

• The potential of products not working effectively

The ARTISTRY Intensives Renewing Peel works at a deeper layer than the Signature Select Personalized Polishing Mask is therefore more effective when starting this Skin Transformation program. The ARTISTRY Intensives Renewing Peel:

• Prevents the skin from looking dull and lifeless

• Assists proper absorption of the skincare products to follow e.g. serums, moisturisers and Intensives range

• Prevents blocked pores causing pimples and break outs

DAILY REGIME PACKS

POWER SYSTEMS

The Daily Regime Packs include the daily cleanser, toner and moisturiser. These are everyday basic skincare products to meet the customer’s specific skin types and concerns.

Your customer using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser but recommending an ARTISTRY system will ensure that she is using the right products for her skin type and skin diagnosis.

Often you will find that a customer might be using a cleanser but not a toner so there will be a gap to discuss.

This includes serums and hero products – intensive treatments that target specific needs and skin concerns.

Why use a serum? A serum works at a deeper layer than your moisturiser as they are lighter in texture and are formulated to deliver results at a deeper level of the skin. They support the effectiveness of your moisturiser. They target specific areas of concern.

A hero product could also be a mask or blemish treatment as they offer targeted and specific needs.

When discussing and recommending the Power System, always refer back to their skin concerns.

e.g. “Mary, you said that you were concerned with the elasticity and firmness of your skin. The ARTISTRY Signature Select Firming Serum Amplifier, used with the Base Serum, is formulated to work at a deeper layer to help your skin have a more lifted look. It is designed to support the effectiveness of your Daily Skin Regime.”
