LOUISIANA - MD 8
LOUISIANA is in the Southern region of the United States with a population of 4.5 mil-lion residents. The heritage of the state is a multilingual one consisting primarily of French, Spanish, Native American, and African. It is named after King Louis XIV of France. Original-ly part of the French Colonial Empire, it stretched from Mobile Bay to the Canadian border. The capital is Baton Rouge and the first Lions Club established in the state was Downtown Shreveport in 1917.

This medallion was made by the Lions of Louisiana to be given away at the scheduled 2006 LCI Conven-tion in New Orleans. The convention was moved to Boston, MA as a result of the devastation of New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina.
