better conversations
Formed in 2009
Supported by the Scottish Government
Purpose: to ensure all sectors of Scotland’s
economy and civic society contribute fully to
achieving Scotland’s ambitious climate change

Climate change and delivering a sustainable economy are twin challenges for the wellbeing of Scotland’s environment and people.
Government alone cannot hope to tackle these challenges. The 2020 Group has come from a view that those key people in Scotland who are in a position to contribute to or influence action should work together.

The challenge for all 2020 Climate
Group members..and for you…
Are we missing a trick in using our collective clout – especially in investment terms?
Are we clear what concepts such as “responsible investment” really mean in the light of the climate change and other big challenges of the 21st century?
“Our experience has also taught us that if leaders make the right decisions for the right reasons, their (voters) will support them. By raising their sights – and shrugging off the restraints imposed by vested interests and short-term ‘political’ considerations – they can also inspire hope, rebuild trust and mobilise action across society.”
