If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and in-visible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father be-fore all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made con-substantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salva-tion he came down from heaven, and by the Ho-ly Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. This Monday, September 7, is Labor Day and the official end of Summer 2020. So there will be a holiday schedule at St. Charles. There will be

one daily Mass, at 8:30am. The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, so if you need anything from the Office, please stop after Mass today. The Office is open until 5:00pm on Saturday and until 1:00pm on Sunday.

Just a few reminders: The 7:00am daily Mass returns to our schedule this

Tuesday, September 8. So there will now be a 7:00am Mass on Monday thru Friday in addition to the current 7:00pm Mass.

There will be an 8:30am daily Mass every Friday, September thru May.

Effective Tuesday, September 8, Parish Office hours will be: Sunday, 8:00am to 1:00pm; Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm.

It has been my practice, since I became pastor of St. Charles in 1987, to provide an annual “State of the Parish” report on the second Sunday of September. Next week, in the parish bulletin, you will find an insert detailing the financial receipts and expenses, the status of our three invested funds, and an overview of parish statistics for the period July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

A total of $2,500.00 in prizes are awarded weekly to the ticket holders with the four teams that score the most - or the least - num-ber of points in that given week of games. Every year, we gather for the 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic, as with all other diocesan events, has greatly disrupted our plans. At this time, bringing together couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary is not possible. However, we do not want the year to pass by without marking this very special occasion.

To honor all couples married in 1970, we would like to send a diocesan certificate as a keepsake. CYRENIAN MINISTRY Volunteers Needed to Make Sandwiches

The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Ministry is starting up again and we need your help. Many local organizations distribute food and sandwiches daily to people in need and the demand is great. Join us to make sandwiches on Thursday, September 17th at 6:00pm.

2ND ANNUAL CLEVELAND CATHOLIC WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

Livestreamed Saturday, October 17, 2020

All women are invited to attend this one-day event for adult women who wish to learn and pray as they grow deeper in their faith. Inspired by St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the theme of this year’s conference is “Simply Holy: Living God’s Will in All Things.”

The day will begin with a live-streamed Mass at Saints Cosmas & Damian in Twinsburg. Speakers throughout the day include Debbie Georgianni, co-host of EWTN Radio’s “Take 2 with Jerry and Debbie,” Mother Gabriella of Christ the Bridegroom Monastery, and veteran broadcaster and host of “Good Things Radio,” Brooke Taylor. Singer/songwriter Taylor Tripodi will share her musical gifts during our praise and worship time during live-streamed Adoration.
