Integrating Lotus Connections components into Lotus Sametime Connect

Download and Install the Sametime Connect client

●Download Sametime Connect 7.5.1 CF1

http://www15.software.ibm.com/fulfill/support/C13DIML.exe

●Extract the .EXE file to a temporary directory e.g. \temp

●Run sametime-connect-win-7.5.1.exe from: -

\temp\sametime\SametimeConnect\sametimeclient

Build must be 2007-07-17-02.20

Start Sametime and verify the version ...

Go get the plugin for Connections

Visit the Lotus Connections zone of the IBM Lotus Business Solutions Catalog at: -

●Search for the Lotus Connections Plug-in for Lotus Sametime, or cheat and simply use the shortcut URL here: -

●Download the plugin ( which is a 2.5 MB file - 1WP1001G5.zip )

●Extract the ZIP file to, say, f:\temp\st_plugin

Install the plugin ...

Get the connectivity right – in my case, I need to use Ted's shortname ( tamado ) rather than his long name – I believe this is due to the (currently unsupported) use of Domino as a directory

Note also that we use HTTP not HTTPS, unlike the browser

C'est voila – Ted can see Samantha's profile, and see what activities they are working on together

I'm currently using Lotus Connections 1.0, kindly provided as a VMware image by a colleague

However, I used the same process against a Connections 1.0.2 server without problems.
