The Cabin Pub in Dudley Speeds Up Service with the Stylish Casio QT-6600 EPOS Terminal The Cabin Opened in 1970 in Dudley, Peter Guise has owned the beautiful sports themed pub since 2003. With 11 employees, they serve on average 1,500 customers weekly. The Challenge Peter owned a previous EPOS system which was dated and slow. Frustrated customers were being served slowly and errors were being made as the buttons on the tills were positioned too close together. Peter explains: Previously we owned an EPoS system but the buttons on the touch screen were far too small and too close together. This slowed down the speed of service and meant that costly mistakes were being made.” Searching for a solution that would efficiently process orders quickly and would be easy to train staff with, Peter approached MicroTill for a suitable solution. MicroTill have been established since 1991 and have built a strong relationship with Casio ever since. The Requirements The Cabin required a solution that would be speedy and the screen needed to have a concise visual layout. The terminal also had to be cost effective, easy to use and have a secure operator log-in. A reporting option to help the owners keep control of stock levels and verify staff sales was also required. The Solution Peter needed a reliable solution, which had to be proven to work in the market place. Peter explains: I had seen the Casio tills at the Punch Taverns road show a year ago alongside MicroTill. I was really impressed by the demonstration and was pleasantly surprised that it fulfilled my requirements. I ordered the terminals there and then and didn’t consider any other alternatives.” The solution recommended was two QT-6600 EPoS terminals with back office software. The QT-6600 terminals have been easy to use and people tend to be spending more because they are getting served quicker. The training has been an absolute doddle! It is much quicker to serve customers. My bar staff find it easy to use and training has been so simple! The tills are incredibly easy to use which has improved the speed of service” explains Peter. The Cabin Pub in Dudley Speeds Up Service with the StylishCasio QT-6600 EPOS Terminal

The CabinOpened in 1970 in Dudley, Peter Guise has owned the beautiful sports themed pub since 2003. With 11 employees, they serve on average 1,500 customers weekly.

The ChallengePeter owned a previous EPOS system which was dated and slow. Frustrated customers were being served slowly and errors were being made as the buttons on the tills were positioned too close together.

Peter explains:“Previously we owned an EPoS system but the buttons on the touch screen were far too small and too close together. This slowed down the speed of service and meant that costly mistakes were being made.”

Searching for a solution that would efficiently process orders quickly and would be easy to train staff with, Peter approached MicroTill for a suitable solution. MicroTill have been established since 1991 and have built a strong relationship with Casio ever since.

The RequirementsThe Cabin required a solution that would be speedy and the screen needed to have a concise visual layout. The terminal also had to be cost effective, easy to use and have a secure operator log-in. A reporting option to help the owners keep control of stock levels and verify staff sales was also required.

The SolutionPeter needed a reliable solution, which had to be proven to work in the market place.

Peter explains: “I had seen the Casio tills at the Punch Taverns road show a year ago alongside MicroTill. I was really impressed by the demonstration and was pleasantly surprised that it fulfilled my requirements. I ordered the terminals there and then and didn’t consider any other alternatives.” The solution recommended was two QT-6600 EPoS terminals with back office software.

“The QT-6600 terminals have been easy to use and people tend to be spending more because they are getting served quicker. The training has been an absolute doddle! It is much quicker to serve customers. My bar staff find it easy to use and training has been so simple! The tills are incredibly easy to use which has improved the speed of service” explains Peter.

The Cabin feel that the QT-6600 and the hand-held terminal have proven to be fast and reliable. Features such as the concise graphical layout have enabled more orders to be processed within a shorter time period.

The BenefitsThe Cabin Pub has benefited enormously from the QT-6600:

Comprehensive and customising reporting

Sales are sped up with the large LCD touch screen

Optional Casio Hospitality back office software for complete stock management.

Expert floor management system Stylish design with small foot print that

ideally fit into tight spaces Simplified graphical split bill operation

Peter explains: “Not having the best eyesight, the overall experience for me personally has been that the Casio solution has been incredibly simple to use. I can see everything clearly and it looks great behind my bar! The back office software is nice and easy to use for stock taking in particular. Everything is self-explanatory which has resulted in me spending less time in the office and more time front of house.”

The FuturePeter is keen to improve customer service levels further during the peak summer months and would like to involve Casio and MicroTill in their future plans. Peter concludes “As we are a big sports pub, on the outside I am looking into purchasing hand-helds which will allow our glass collectors to take orders from outside.”

“Microtill are fantastic to work with and installation was done on time”.
